My personal ratings are are;
(i am not mentioning Pete's Dragon (2016) since it's a remake from a movie that have many live-action sequences or Christopher Robin (2018) since it's just a sequel movie)
- The Jungle Book (1994) = 5/10;
Not a great movie, but still pretty enjoyable.
- 101 Dalmatians (1996) = 8/10;
This is a really good movie, unlike many other remakes made after, this does not have much CGI tecnique, there is much fun in it, and the story is good too.
- 102 Dalmatians (2000) = 8/10;
This is easily the best one of them all, i love the story and the characters, and it is really fun too.
- Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland (2010) = 5/10;
I would not say it is a great movie, i love the look of Alice, and the actors are good, but rest of the movie's look is awful.
- Maleficent (2014) = 5/10;
Just like Alice In Wonderland, i woulkd definly not call this a great movie, i love the acting of Angelina Jolie, but most of other actors are not so good, i like that they portray the character Maleficent's perspective, but rest of the film is mediocre.
- Cinderella (2015) = 7/10;
Not as bad as other Disney remakes made in 2010s & 2020s, this is a good attempt to make the movie stand on it's own.
- The Jungle Book (2016) = 4/10;
This movie is bad, really bad, the look of the movie is really ugly, the background music is easily forgetable, the story is very bad, the characters are lame, the songs are made in a really bad way, i do appreriate that the wolves have a larger role and that mother wolf is talking, but the rest of the movie is just a crap, it feels like a boring story that is mixing the animated movie with the book in a really bad way.
- Alice Through The Looking Glass (2016) = 4/10;
This movie might be one of the worst, since the story is even worse than the first one.
- Beauty and The Beast (2017) = 5/10;
Good acting, but this also feels really boring since it is copying everything from the animated one.
- Dumbo (2019) = 5/10;
This movie is trying to stand on it's own, but with a better attempt on is than the 2016s The Jungle Book, however, it is still a bit more boring than it's animated counterpart, but i love the acting.
- Aladdin (2019) = 5/10;
Just like Dumbo the same year, this movie is a better attempt to stand on it's own than The Jungle Book from 2016, it still have the songs which make it copy from the animated one, but i love the character Dalia, and the song Speechless, the acting is okay.
- The Lion King (2019) = 4/10;
Just like The Jungle Book (2016, this movie is bad, really bad, just a boring copy of the animated counterpart, Beyonce is great, but rest of the movie is just a crap, and the look of the entire movie is really ugly.
- Maleficent 2 Mistress of Evil (2019) = 5/10;
The same level as the first movie, Angelina Jolie is really great once again, but rest of the movie is not so great.
- Lady and The Tramp (2019) = 4/10;
Just a boring copy of the animated one.
- Mulan (2020) = 4/10;
This movie is NOT good, it feels really boring and not much more to say about it.
- Cruella (2021) = 5/10;
I would say this movie is okay, just like Maleficent, it tells the story of Cruella's perspective.
But in every case, the animated counterparts will always be the best!

8 -Took my breath away!
7 -I think its cute. May not be like the original but I liked it and those are real dogs, by the way. Not lying
6 -I love 101 Dalmatians! Even met Glenn Close, shes nice
5 -Emma Stone became a girl on fire as Cruella de Vil, its a favorite

I like Aladdin, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. My favourite might be the Mowgli as an adult, I just love the actor - well the actors.
The Lion King in Castilian Spanish has such an incredible music adaptation and most good old voices are back, with wonderful new dubbers that sound similar to the originals.
About the Little Mermaid the songs bring the good old lyrics, even some of the script is the same, and the voices are wonderful too.
Aladdin was ok song wise, voices were decent but not similar to what I remembered. I mention it because it is one of my favourite disney movies and they did okay. I am not a fan of a hot Jaffar but I know this was more like a parallel universe or something.
Sadly I was never into Beauty and the Beast, the animated one is simply way too epic.

My list
1. Cruella-This movie is perfection imo, Cruella has always been my favorite character and I have a passion for fashion, revenge and complex stories so this was just amazing for me
2. Cinderella-The story stayed the same and you can recognize the charcters but they have WAY more depth and it improves the overall story and doesnt feel dated anymore.
3. Meleficent-It has its flaws but its great, I loved her story and while Aurora was a very forgettable princess, the movie getting a different perspective was all it needed for me.

The first jungle book and 101 Dalmatians were the best. They didnt use horrible computer graphics and they just arent as good. Beauty and the beast was awful with that singing throughout. Mulan was not a remake I even wanted to see. Id rather seen Pocahontas or sword and the stone over that. Lion king was not creative and one of the worst remakes I ever seen. Aladdin did good till the snake part was left out. Now add Pinocchio and Im sure the little mermaid with that list.
reply

The sorcerer's apprentice was a far better movie than described here, saw it on cinema, definitely worth the money. Nobody considers it a remake or reboot though.
The Lion King remake is spectacular in terms of visuals.
I generally don't like it when they change the story of these fairytales, they were great as they were. That's why I mostly avoid them

This I what live action dreamworks films be like:
Shrek: good potential but a little unsure about the CGI for shrek
Madagascar: they probably wouldn't have the animals walking up right
Kung Fu Panda: we're not ready for live action anthropomorphic films yet
How To Train Your Dragon: basically Braveheart and Jurassic Park combined

reply

You Ranked Mulan way too high, it is so fundamentally broken that it deserves to burn in cinema hell. It deserves the worst spot. I haven't even seen some of them, but I would gladly watch them over Mulan and The Lion King, especially since the renaissance contain some of the best movies that shouldn't be remade in the first place.
reply

As Cinderella is an overused fairytale, I dont really like it that much. So Im not too excited when the live action came out. Years later I watched it just to pass time and my, I was blown away by it. Everything was done so beautifully. It feels magical and I always get teary eyed specially the ball scene.
reply

Did you know Cinderella is the only Disney princess remake that used a film camera thats why it's so beautiful, the movie had The perfect visual, the people, the camera, the placements of the camera, the clothing, the color palette. Cinderella is my favorite Disney movie and my top 2 fav movie
reply

My top is
1) 101 Dalmatians

The jungle book went in the opposite direction with a more darker tone for his live action movie remake I remember when it first came out I said to myself I don't think they're going to be able to make another sequel to this because it was so good it remind me of the movie Life is pie
reply

I hope this gets updated with the 3 new remakes.
Pinocchio (2022, Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks, baby)
Peter Pan & Wendy (2023, Jude Law as Captain Hook? Yes, please)
The Little Mermaid (2023, a Renaissance remake courtesy of Rob Marshall and Lin-Manuel Miranda)

reply

Beauty and the beast does need to be higher. Mulan and aladdin deserved to be lower. They were just horrible. Beauty and the beast for me would be not be 1st for sure but around 5th or 4th in my opinon cause its good but the animated one still beats it by a mile
reply

the best ones for me was Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Christopher Robin, Aladdin and of course The Jungle Book and Cruella even thought it's not a remake still a brilliant movie I'm hoping the little Mermaid will be good

the little mermaid

reply

For beauty and the beast i choose the 2014 live action one, its not rlly story acurate but has the base line of it
For me it does have much more fantasy and visually beautifull on many different departments of the movie.

reply

How do y'all put beauty and the beast before Mulan the live action Mulan is terrible especially without some of the characters that make the movie the way it is like mushu it's like having Cinderella without the mice
reply

The problem with these live-action remakes is.
Instead of remaking the old movies in the best way possible, Disney is remaking the movies in the best way possible within their little creative bubble.

reply

The lion king 2019 doesn't even offer a good visual experience
The original has animation which to this day looks timeless
The 2019 animated movie looks like shit, many things look bad

reply

My top three favorites are.
The jungle book
The lion King
&
Dumbo
Though top three good remakes is.
Beauty and the beast
Cinderella
&
Sleeping beaty

reply

I cant wait for Snow White and The Little Mermaid. Since five actresses pulled it off as their Disney Princess counterpart, I wonder how Rachel Zegler and Halle Bailey will do
reply

Beauty and the Beast deserved a higher ranking in my opinion one the best true to the original remakes they have ever produced yet. And Emma's singing chops surprised many of us
reply

Absolutely not. Can't say that I agree with this ranking (Mulan should be dead last and I LOVE that Jungle Book) but it was fun to watch through all the Disney Remakes.
reply

I very much loved Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Cruella, The Lion King, Maleficent, Pinocchio and Christopher Robin
reply

# 1 Cinderella, # 2 Aladdin, # 3 Jungle Book Beauty and the best, I just didnt like the actress portrayed Belle. And I totally hated that ugly yellow dress.
reply

Hated them all with the exception of the ones I don't deem as necessarily remakes like cruella, Christopher Robin, maleficent, the magicians apprentice etc
reply

Christopher Robin is not a remake its basically a sequel. Good grief.
Also it deserved to be so much higher on this list. Its a beautiful movie.

reply

I like how everytime I scroll down the comments, each comment has opinions, Beauty and the beast, Maleficent, Cinderella, and then Cruella Lmao
