I knew barbie the princess & the pauper would be first.
The princess & the pauper and Barbie: Swan Lake was my childhood.
Everytime we went on holiday my dad would rig up two small cd players and I would always bring the princess and the pauper along.
Swan Lake I still have as a VHS Tape. Put away with my princess Anneliese and Prince Dominick dolls my dad got as a Christmas present. He even got me Seraphina to go with her.
But barbie Rapunzel I love purely for it's lovely music.

Have you even watched barbie and the island princess? it has romance, strength, integrity and the complexity between duties and desire. Antonio is the perfect match for her, they are both adventurous, and kind. Antonio was still so respectful to princess Luciana, and still admired and respected Ro. And the mother daughter relationship? Another sub plot to drive the movie home, the musicality, pacing and color palette is amazing, a truly unique story that sets itself apart from the rest.

I am forcing my kids or at least daughters(if I have any) to watch all Barbie movies! I dont care how good animation has gotten in 30 to 50 years, these are childhood movies along with all other animations movies!

I mostly owned DVD versions of the barbie movies and the only VHS tapes I had was Princess and the Pauper and Swan Lake
I still remember watching the VHS and when I finished, rewinding it ready for the next time I watch it. The movie was fun to watch and just as good to rewind it

When I was five, BArbie and the Nutcracker was my favorite movie, my sister and I watched it every Christmas. We loved the one with the Pegasus, too. And I was obsessed with Barbie Diaries. So many fond memories of these movies! Thanks for reminding me of my childhood!

The Princess and The Pauper is my all time FAVOURITE. I sing it over and over and I never get bored of it. I can even remember the lyrics of the ending soundtrack.

I miss the soft classic barbie animation that's just very pleasant to the eyes. Now watching the new barbie seems like watching a cocomelon cartoon, too stimulating and hurts my eyes and brain.
