My favorite one is Gene Simmons of KISS. He was on the original series, he played himself. I thought it was awesome!
Roger Daltrey of The Who did a guest shot in the original CSI, he played Mickey Dunn in the Season 7 episode Living Legend.
Liev Schrieber played Mike Keppler for four episodes on CSI in Season 7.
Faye Dunaway was on one episode, playing a retired showgirl who murdered a hitman.
So many amazing and talented people have been in all of the shows of this awesome franchise.

John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Taylor Swift aren't the only musicians featured in CSI. The band Train was featured in the CSI: NY episode 'Second Changes' with the band's lead singer guest starring as the character Sam Baker. This was the 11th episode of the 6th season and also the last season to see Melina Kanaredes as the character Stella Bonasera.

I LOVE CSI Crime scene investigation and actually wrote my university Dissertation on the subject so I know a little bit too much about this show. I knew every single one of these and even more embarrassing I could tell you which episode and season they were from, for example the amanda seyfried episode is called roshama from season 6

I think this list mixes two types of celebrities that deserve to go on different lists:
1. Stars you forgot were at CSI: Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Sean Combs, etc.
2. Actors who were at CSI when unknown. In addition to those on the list, there are Kate Mara, Zac Efron, Mahershala Ali, Ian Somerhalder and many more.

How did you determine what most fans didn't remember? I definitely remember Taylor Swift being in Turn, Turn because it was head and shoulders over almost any of the other episodes where a singer tried acting, and the John Mayer appearance was the premiere episode of the season with the Miniature Killer.

I don't understand Taylor Swift's success. Her acting is terrible, she's spectacularly homely, and her songs are _REALLY_ simple and childlike. AND in interviews she sounds dumb as rocks. Idk, maybe she's a nice person, but even that I doubt.

Eric Stonestreet had a reoccurring role as a lab guy on the original CSI.
And Evan Rachel Wood was in an episode of CSI, too.
Kim Kardashian & Kid Rock were both in (separate) episodes of CSI: NY

Lol was just watching CSI Miami and the episode with Tatum was showing the same episode. Another actor who has redeemed himself in my eyes is the guy who played on Leverage Aldis Hodges

I am bingeing NYPD Blue and it is interesting how many of the names that pop up here were also Guest stars on that show. Also, some of the cast of the CSI shows.

I believe there were a few actors from desperate housewives on CSI before.
Also recommend doing this list if you haven't already for guest stars on NCIS

Eric Stonestreet of Modern Family played a lab tech in the first five seasons. Future Oscar winners Mahershala Ali and Octavia Spencer did too.
