Let's face it, these couples wouldn't live happily ever after! For this list, well be looking at the romantic pairings from Disney movies that we think are most likely to call it quits. Well be going into detail and spoiling some plots, FYI. Our countdown includes couples from Enchanted, Monsters, Inc, Cinderella and more! Do you think any of these relationships can stand the test of time?

Huh i never realised about Giselle and Robert i know people talked about it, that Robert wasnt happy moving to another place, i think it was evident i just never realised it was true so maybe it was. I understand the concept of like when you have a crush on someone but its not like your first love or your first kiss with someone, so i get teen love, you move on from that unfortunately. Um i know there are people out there who hate each other to bits and are still together which is weird, but i know some people break up with there spouses which is totally normal. Its like saying how Peter and Lois are still together even though they sometimes argue ALOT and dont always agree with each other but there still together. Even though what they do is unquestionable so i can say that.
I know that Pocahontas and John Smith definitely broke up for sure, cause didnt she marry someone else, although in fairytales if youre betrothed to someone even if in some cases you like them or not but youre betrothed to each other but youre not in love with them, there are some cases where for example in the great Catherine and Peter have a love / hate relationship but there are still together despite that. But i would say its the way they did things back then especially royalty you know getting betrothed to someone you cant change that you get Marry very young or have kids very young so yeah times do change, but not for that. Hey who knows they might be together still despite not loving each other or be with each other you cant break up a betrothed marriage so theres that.
BUT at the end of the day we talking about fictional fairytales so i dont think that would happen.

I truly will never get the Cinderella slander.
Seriously?
The Prince who fell in love with Cinderella at first sight.
Was so intent on marrying ONLY HER that he had to be hypnotized.
Jumped outa window, raced across town and onto a ship for her.
AND
Protected her from a spell.
Is so superficial that he would leave Cinderella for someone else!
There are so many scenes from the trilogy that shows both Cinderella and the Prince love eachother for more than just looks or money that the tired and contrived
She's a gold digger or He only liked her cause she's hot takes are just annoying at this point.
In every ideration of Cinderella ( Besides the Into the woods one)
The Prince loves her for her. The whole point of the story is that the Prince is so in love with her that he doesn't care about the maid role she was forced to play and marries her because of the kind, charming, and gentle person she is.
And if the two of them are willing to go through 3 movies worth of crazy plots to be together. then they're relationship is a pretty strong one.

Cinderella I don't agree with. She isn't a scullery maid at all. She was demoted to that roll because her stepfamily wasted her father's money on dresses and accessories after he passed away (and probably had to fire the staff that worked with Cindy and her father in order to keep up appearances as upper class. I get that when a husband passes, his wife normally inherites the money left over in the will, not the next of kin which wothout have been Cinderella if that was the case normally. Cindy was too kind not to do the chores in the house (as well as her stepfamily making her do them anyway) and basically having to live in a small bedroom without any proper clothes to significantly her status along with her stepfamily. She still holds her status with her family. She just wasn't allowed to attend the ball since her family saw her as a threat to the Princes' heart, which worked in the end anyway in her favor. No catfishing was involved at all on her part. The Prince is shallow to only fall in love with Cindy for her looks though but that's it really

I think unfortunately when people use 2 hour length movies to gauge real relationships and romance, it is just not practical or make any sense. These pieces of art are just used for that purpose, art. Sometimes it does reflect real life and sometimes it's to tell a story with exaggerations or tapping into the theme of romance/love. That's why in snow white, I'm assuming Disney wanted to focus on other themes of the story or telling a fun narrative with an inclusion of hopelessly love struck couple but not have the story revolve around them. Which is probably why we only get one scene of them singing and then bam, they infatuated. It is a exaggeration on how real love is which takes time, conversations, and going through trials. I watch this video just for fun but i don't think that it should be overly analyzed on how accurate it portrays love in my opinion. Alright, I said my piece take care.

The most shocking one to me is Giselle and Robert from the Enchanted franchise. Why on earth would they be on this list just because of the spat they faced in Disenchanted! At that point in the film, they had been together for FIFTEEN YEARS and had a child of their own! (Yeah I was a bit surprised it took them that long to have a kid of their own, but thats not the point) Just because you hit a rough point in your life and you wish for things to be different doesnt mean that the marriage is going to end. If you remember at the end of the film, Giselle made things right by apologizing to everyone, saying she only wanted to do what she felt was right for her family, especially her stepdaughter, and realized she went off the deep end, and it made her closer with everyone because she owned up to her mistakes.

It may not like it very much, but suggesting Prince Charming only cared about Cinderella's looks when literally bringing up the events of the 3rd movie, where the two were able to get to know each other better before marrying in that new timeline and even choosing to not have fairly godmother rewind time to the original version of events is pretty disrespectful.
In the original timeline, yes, maybe you could argue they'd break up, but in the new timeline of Cinderella 3, they bonded to be far closer than in the original.
And Charming clearly wasn't reacting the way he did to Anastasia because of her lack of traditional beauty, but because he's not blind and knew the girl he danced with had BLONDE hair, while Anastasia has red hair.
That's just logical identification, nothing more

In what world is Disney's version of Phillip creepy! I would get it if we were talking about the original Grim fairy tale, but Disney's Phillip is honestly one of the greatest guys ever.
He fell in love with his future wife before he know who she was, decided to marry her against his father's wishes while thinking she was a peasant, faced and killed a dragon for her and kissed her only after being instructed to do so by the fairies to save her life. He is the perfect example of Prince Charming and a world would be a much better place if there were more guys like him.
I think you need to officially apologize for this one!

reply

Of course Aurora is taken aback. She's only been completely sheltered for the last 16 years of her life with no one but the fairies and her forest friends to talk to. So yeah, when the guy of her literal dreams pops up out of nowhere, she's a little stunned at first. But let's see, he doesn't touch her beyond dancing with her, leaves how close they get up to her. He then also leaves it up to HER to decide if they'll ever see each other again, fights a dragon for her and then only kisses her at the request of her guardians in order to save her life. Pretty sure he respects her just fine.

This list for Disney Couples Mojo believes would likely break up which I beg the differ
10. Esmeralda and Captain would definitely have problems, but they will last.
9. Robert and Giselle will 1000% stay together, regardless of their difference or the problems they face.
7. Mike and Celia would probably break up, but not for too long. It's very possible she would definitely understand the pressure he gets from his job.
3. Cindercharming will last, plus, both of them fought for their love(in the sequel.
2. It's likely, but they would give it another try

reply

Giselle wasn't being unhappy and scared with her choices at the end of Disenchanted. She was accepting that there'd be good days and bad days. The song literally goes:
And though here in reality
My ever-after may not be
At every moment happily
It's even more
Even more, even more
Even more, even more
Even more, even more
Even more Enchanted
Does that really sound like someone still ready to call it quits? Come on.

A lot of older Disney(my time period, I don't recall ever wanting to break the silly cartoon romance. I don't recall ever relating myself as a cartoon princess unless pretend. My grandma taught me cartoons are make believe. I was taught relationships are real and not pretend your a Disney character. Do no one tell or teach this anymore and rely on cartoons to teach kids now? If so stop popping out Disney kids.

I kind of have to defend Aurora and Philip because, even in my early 30s, I still think its extremely cute that they fell in love with their betrothed partner without even realizing who the other person was. You have to admit that is really romantic considering back in those times arranged marriages were mostly political and the vast majority of them hardly had any real romantic connections to them at all
reply

I agree Cinderella is likely going to not stay married to PC. But I do want to point out that Cinderella is actually a child of the gentry. Her father is a land owner, so she is a gentlemans daughter despite the fact shes been treated as a scullery maid. So while hes above her in station as a royal, shes the same station as her own step sisters and most of the other ladies at the ball.

anita darling and roger ratcliffe dalmatian movie their love of dogs but gets in the way of wanting more then has to be powerful and stand up for them makes it harder to keep them or at least rapunzel and flynn the wanted thief who has it in for the hair only saves her in the end by doing a haircut or aladdin and jas wanted street rat but does it go farther than that
reply

Well I cant say Im happy that my favorite couple is on this list (Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip) They fall in love before they know of their royal status or betrothal. And even though Prince Phillip kisses her awake he knows that will break the spell. The Prince from Snow White doesnt even know that kissing the dead girl will wake her up.
reply

Another couple. Bambi and Faline. At the end of the film, Bambi becomes Prince of The Forest. Prince Bambi has to spend the rest of his life defending his position, which leaves little or no time for the domestic life. Faline will be raising those cute little fawn twins alone. As for Prince Bambi, he has lots of does ahead of him yet to court.
reply

Esmeralda and Phoebus really surprised me. Yes, they did have a bit of trust issues in the sequel film as proven in this video, but thats small potatoes. I may not watch that sequel anymore, but I distinctly remember lots of scenes where they showed a lot of still going strong romantic feelings towards one another
reply

One Disney couple I could likely see breaking up is Benny and Bridget from The Wild, considering they are two different species (whereas one is a squirrel and one is a giraffe) and Bridget at first continuously brushes off being Benny's girlfriend despite his best attempts to impress her.
reply

I disagree on Giselle and Robert. I dont think she was expressing dissatisfaction. She was admitting that her view of happily ever after, which she always saw as something that just happens, was an incorrect view and that happiness takes work. And she is now willing to do that work.
reply

Cinderella was born and raised as a woman of status. It was only after her mother died, and her father married the evil step mom with her ugly sisters, and her father died at war that she became the scullery girl featured.
Might I suggest you fire your script writers.

reply

Princess Mia and Nicholas from the Princess Diaries. Those 2 hated each other from the start especially since he wanted to be King and tried to sabotage Mia during her trials. Yeah they do fall for each other at the end but secretly by marriage to Mia to become King
reply

What's so weird about Prince Phillip kissing Aurora to wake her up from a spell? The prince from Snow White did the same with Snow White to wake her up from a spell and no one has a problem with that. Plus, why ruin the Disney classics for us with something dreadful.
reply

I disagree with Aurora and Philip, Mike and Celia, Cinderella and Charming and Kenai and Nita theyve proven that a special moment between each other is all it takes for love to bloom sure there may be some problems but they get through it
reply

Giselle and Robert didn't actually broke up i actually seen them together, and neither Chicken Little and Abby they become couple when he kiss her they didn't even broke up. Have you seen the part of movie before.
reply

I just disagree with this cinderella
one. In the sequel theyre getting along very well and the only reason he doesnt want Anastasia to be his wife its because he doesnt feel spark

reply

I understand that a lot of these couples seem unrealistic, but in movie culture language, if a couple gets married by the end of the movie, then theyre probably not going to break up.
reply

Esmerelda and Phoebus did not break up. Neither did Giselle and Robert, Mike and Celia, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Aurora and Phillip and Snow White and her prince.
reply

The only couples I agree with you, are Pocahontas, Cinderella, sleeping beauty and Snow White. The rest are forever together and happy and nothing can change my mind
reply

As much as I love Sleeping Beauty, the way Phillip keeps grabbing at Aurora's hand despite her pulling away multiple times makes me feel a tad uncomfortable.
reply

Ive never liked the whole Aladdin and Jasmine romance- especially when you consider that it was originally built on a lie that nearly gave Jafar the upper hand.
