ALL the Wonka Songs: RANKED!

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
we’re ranking all the songs from the 1971, 2005, and 2023 movie adaptations of Roald Dahl’s chocolatey classic. Our countdown includes For a Moment, Augustus Gloop, I Want It Now, and more! If YOU had a golden ticket for your all-time favorite song, which would it be I maybe the minority but I couldn't get into the gene wilder version of wonka growing up watching it on dvd. It was just to slow for my taste as a kid. But i did highly enjoyed the johny deep version and the 2023 version one. to me were both masterpieces. Loved how the 2023 version was a homage to both films the gene wilder and deep versions throughout including in the songs, as well. I also loved how the 2023 version take was the people behind Paddington crew who did it phonamilly and take of it being kid wonka as a prequel take on the story. makes me want the team to do with a sequel with the same cast with new characters for 2025.

Pure Imagination is my #1 all-time favorite Willy Wonka song. I LOVE the original movie. I didn't like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I haven't seen Wonka yet. But want to see it. And the musical numbers you showed in the video I'm liking the sound of them. I'll probably search the soundtrack on spotify to hear the whole version.

Love this! Willy Wonka (1970) has been an all time FAVORITE film of mine for YEARS and no better pick for #1 then Pure Imagination it captures Wonka’s essence PERFECTLY! If I were making a list of songs from the Wonka franchise it would be my #1 too it’s my absolute FAVORITE and Gene singing it is MAGICAL

There isn’t a single bad song in Wonka they’re all memorable and catchy and fun to listen to. I’ve listened to the soundtrack non stop it’s that addicting. If I had choose a favorite it’d be Wonka and Noodle’s duet For A Moment it’s sweet and highlights Wonka’s friendship with Noodle

The 2005 version is actually the better movie and adaptation than the original version since it is more faithful to the book and Tim Burton was the perfect director. The 2005 version deserves more love and recognition since a lot of care was put into this adaptation.

I love that you're covering all three Wonka films. Pure Imagination, particularly the Wilder rendition. It instantly lets you know that you're in for a huge treat for both the eyes and ears, as you view the chocolate room for the first time.

I love all of the songs in all 3 movies! My favorites though are Pure Imagination (both versions, For A Moment, A Hatful of Dreams, and You’ve Never Had Chocolate Like This (Hoverchocs & the longer version!
reply

My fave from the 3 movies.
1. Oompa loopa violet version
2. Garbage chute/ verruca salt
3. Sweet tooth
Bonus: Charlie and the chocolate factory musical.
Must believed to be seen

I love the original Charlie and the chocolate factory, and the new Wonka, seen that movie 2 in the cinema and would watch it again
My favourite song is scrub scrub and hatful of dreams

reply

I just love the world of Charlie and the choc factory sm wonka is one of the best films I’ve ever seen and, as a Brit, I love sweet tooth SO MUCH bc of fickelgruber / mathew baynton
reply

I've seen both of the older movies, far preferring Gene Wilder's version, despite being a fan of Johnny Depp. I have not seen Wonka yet, but I will. and I'm not worried about spoilers.
reply

honestly for me Wonkas welcome song is ranked way higher. its just going inside the brain i love it
so iconic! also its the moment we first see willy wonka in this movie

reply

Alright show of thumbs who all came here knowing fully well that Pure Imagination was number one Wonka song! Besides everyone of course. At least I hope it was everyone.
reply

Absolutely not. That new Wonka garbage was never needed and doesn't deserve to be higher than 15 on this list for anything. Gene Wilder is the only Wonka.
reply

The lyrics to The Wondrous Boat Ride is also taken directly out of the book like the lyrics to the Oompa Loompa songs in the 2005 Wonka movie!
reply

I always love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musics because of Danny Elfman even Corpse Bride also both Movies did come out in 2005.
reply

I don’t know why, but the original Willy Wonka movie, during their tour of the chocolate factory scared me half to death when I was a kid.
reply

47: WatchMojo, I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that. It’s what you said about those singing meh for the Welcome song in the 2005 movie
reply

I've never seen the newer versions and I have no interest to. For me the only one that matters is the original one with Gene Wilder.
reply

It is SO HARD for me to choose between Pure Imagination and A World of Your Own! Like MY GOD, what earworms! What absolute bangers!
