. Take the cannoli was my first thought and all time favorite. Gotta love cannolis to really appreciate.
I think there may have been some from Johnny Depp Pirates of the Caribbean, Ive gotta jar of dirt sing song. Maybe others. But Robin Williams King of ad lib, Good Will Hunting and wife farting so loud in her sleep, she woke herself up. Priceless.

And if I may, I would like to add a mention (even if there are those who are still not too keen of him nowadays) in the form of Kevin Spacey and the plate of asparagus in American Beauty. Originally, he was supposed to dump them onto the floor but instead, Spacey aimed for the wall to the actual shocks of Annette Bening and Thora Birch.

Well done list! So glad to see some of my all time fav movies included! Empire, Raiders, Jaws (my 3rd fav movie of all time, Godfather (even if it is in the honorable mentions. Madeline Kahns Flames on the side of my face pops into my head all the time. She was so great and so missed. Great job Mojo!

In a meta moment about Spinal Tap. in the film the band plays at a Milwaukee venue called Shank Hall. Later a Milwaukee entrepreneur reopen a nightclub calling it Shank Hall. A few years later Spinal Tap actually did a tour. When the came to Milwaukee. they played their show at Shank Hall.

My friends and family know AND use the phrase Dial up to 11 not just as an homage and paraphrasing of Christopher Guest,
but also as our way of saying someone or something went beyond what's necessary. Lol.
We've done this for YEARS.
Thankfully fans of the movie get it too.

The reason for that necklace thing is that Julia Roberts arrived on the set sleepy because she partied all night. And then Garry Marshall told Richard Gere to keep her awake. Thats where Richard improvised that scene to keep Julia up.

I know many people might disagree with me given the support Will Farrel usually has, but I seriously find him so ridiculous and not funny at all, that I just get in a bad mood whenever that guys comes up.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back, and Jaws are definitely up there with having the best unscripted moments, like Youre gonna need a bigger boat, Han Solos I know, and Indy shooting the swordsman

The scene in Young Frankenstein about Cloris Leachman's character offering warm milk and ovaltine to Gene Wilder's character. Gets me every time! Although that movie had many good improvised scenes

You talkin' to me. is one of those lines that's so iconic, it's completely transcended the the film it's from. And the fact that it was completely improvised is the icing on the cake.

For me its anything Jim Carrey makes up on set. From his Ron Howard impression in The Grinch to the most annoying sound in the world from Dumb And Dumber everything he makes up is hilarious!
reply

I read somewhere that Dustin Hoffman yelling I'm walkin' here in Midnight Cowboy was an unscripted reaction to almost being hit by an actual taxi cab that was not planned.

I love how confused the other actors look during Mrs White's monologue about how much she hated Yvette. They're wondering who told Madeleine Kahn to say those lines!

Julia Roberts laugh in the necklace scene and Robin Williams mask dripping into the tea. Of course, half of everything RW did was improvised. Such genius.

Look at me, I'm the captain now, is ICONIC. I was sure it would be on this list. We have Barkhad Abdi adlibbbing to thank for that powerful line.

I was expecting the scene in Princess diaries where the fire doesn't go off and she had an even more hilarious reaction to putting it off.
reply

The mask dripping scene from Mrs Doubtfire isn't just great because of Robin Williams but because of his co-star for that scene.
reply

Robert Demero also did it in the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie too (not a good movie but still hilarious him redoing it.
reply

You can tell instantly Julia's laugh is real because it sounds completely different from her acting laugh.
reply

I cant believe that Dustin Hoffmans were walkin here from Midnight Cowboy didnt make the list! Thats ridiculous!
