Top 10 TV Characters Who Were Denied Their Happy Ending

we’re counting down our picks for the television characters we think deserved better. Watch out for spoilers ahead. Our countdown includes Game of Thrones, Shameless, Lost, and more! If we missed any of YOUR favorite TV characters who didn’t get the ending they deserved Villanelle deserved better, I was so shocked when they killed her. After 4 seasons all I wanted was a happy ending for Villanelle, a life free of the 12 and be happy with Eve. Also killing Robin was so bad, one of the worst things the writers did (they left Rolan parentless and Robin fatherless. Regina got her happy ending and then they ripped it away form her, she had to see everyone else be happy and also know that the evil queen version of her got a happy ending but she didn't. It was so unfair to this characters, I wish the writers didn't do that to them.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Raj's ending. There's nothing wrong with being single. That might be better than moving halfway around the world, leaving all you friends and your work behind, having to learn another new culture, and spending your life with someone who doesn't love the things you love. I feel there's a good chance he'd have been less happy if he'd moved in with Anu. Anyway, I'd rather be single than be married to Penny or Bernadette,
I don't think Cordelia deserved better. As I recall, she was the bully on that show. The #1 scene I remember from that show is when she bullied Willow, and Willow got revenge by telling her to press "Deliver" in order to save her file. Cordelia then pressed a key that said "Del" which she thought stood for "Deliver. " That was one of the funniest scenes ever and proves Cordelia does not deserve a happy ending

Martha from Doctor Who. She was a Doctor, someone who saves lives. At the end she marries Mickey of all people and becomes an alien hunter. Why Why did she go from saving lives to murder. And why Micky, seriously Why Because their skin is the same color Or because of my least favorite, pair the spares trope As well, Tara from Buffy. I know her death spurred on Willow to become Dark Willow, and her unholy trail of vengeance was awesome, but it's bury the gays, and also Willow hooks up with Kennedy, someone who was just awful afterwards.

I agree with these but I also think Kieth Scott from One Tree Hill, he was killed off way too soon, he never got a chance to marry Karen, had no idea Karen was even pregnant with his baby, yeah, we see them together in Karen's dream but not in reality, Lily never even had a chance to actually meet him. And Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things, he barely had a chance. He deserved more than to be killed off even if he did it to protect Eleven. I would have liked to have seen more of him.

Cordelia Chase didn't die in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She graduated from high school, moved to Los Angeles, and her plot line continued on Angel. She DID eventually die in the final season- one of the last few episodes of season 5 of Angel, in fact. I believe it was called "You're Welcome. " And she didn't get the ending she deserved in that one either- she could have ended up with Angel, but Joss killed off her character instead.

Laurel Lance from Arrow. She was brutally murdered in the show, and then her sister gives up on trying to bring her back, and then Oliver brings back literely everybody else he lost expect her. She gave so much to others, and dedicated her life towards helping others. Worse. Sge wasn't even killed because she was the black Canary. She was killed due to the actions of others.

Glenn from TWD and George from Grey's were 2 of the most shocking deaths I've seen in TV for sure. But Keith Scott at least deserved an honourable mention. As for Justin Foley I hated it but it made sense for the recklessness of his character to not have thought about that and contract it. Still so sad though and sadly a reality of that life.

Also I don’t know about the character being denied a happy ending but I feel like the fans were denied the chance to see Joey Tribiani happy. In the end his career was meh, his love life was meh and his friends were all moving on to their next stages and he was regressing (chick and duck. And yes I watched and enjoyed Joey but separately.

"it was incredibly unfair to both Logan and Veronica". and to the fans, some of whom spent their own money getting the show back and did not deserve to get screwed by the idiotic notion that a strong woman can't have character development if she's in a happy relationship (yes, that was the rationale behind killing him.

Agree so much with this list! I would just put my beloved Queen Daenerys first! I will never be ok with that end for her! My only comfort is fanfic now! I’m so traumatized by that end that I even want now super OP Danny fics that she has an army of dragons or powers given by the Valyrian gods! Lol

I think Regina Mills should’ve been number one on the list instead of just being an honorable mention. She truly deserved to be happy after fighting tooth and nail to turn around her miserable and unhappy past, and she did find happiness only to have it taken away from her over and over again!

What about Dr Spencer Reid He never found his true love even though that they planted Maxi in the last season it definitely was only two episodes, and with all the trauma he had over the years he should at least been on them for honorable mention, and also losing Gideon also made him more tougher

I agree, so many tv characters get screwed over for happy endings, they don’t need to end up with a significant other, but alone, career stunted and even dead is tv usually finishes their arcs! Greys is big on lots of their characters ending up either dead or moving away alone!

I am not gonna assume things, but is weird how pretty much every black character ends up dying in a violent way in The Vampire Diaries and the only main black character is miserable and alone for 80% of the show while everyone else is making out or living their dreams.

While it might be realistic that Lane never became a famous rock star, nor made it out of Stars Hollow, it's sad that she settled for less than she deserved, despite seeing happy with Zack, and raising their twins. But she feels like a shadow of her former self.

Elliot Waugh The Magicians. Already losing his romantic love I hate how the show ended and he was separated from his platonic BFF and other friends. His character arc was great (2nd only to MH) and he deserved so much more. Still love the show so much though.

I know he wasn't a central character but I would have include Adam from Supernatural. He was disrespected so much it wasn't even funny.
There could probably be a list of Top 10 SPN characters that deserved better if there already isn't one.

The fact that I literally invested in the Veronica Mars series by donating to the Kickstarter is why the ending to that show hurt more than anything else.
It felt like the creator Rob Thomas gave us all a big slap to the face.

I'm not surprised people forget about Silver from the reboot of 90210. She finds out she has breast cancer and has to freeze her eggs, every guy she's dated is now involved with someone else and it just kinda sucks for her.

Jadzia Dax on Deep Space Nine. There are many reasons to hate Dukat but killing Jadzia ranks pretty high with me.
I'll always hate what Gilmore Girls did to Lane Kim. She should have never ended up with Zach.
