First, we DO know who struck first. In reality, the government had no intention of saving the country. Quite the opposite, the Enclave intentionally took the first shot at China to ensure complete nuclear annihilation after having deemed Earth no longer properly habitable. In secret, the Enclave had planned to leave Earth and begin a new civilization on another planet. Though they would not leave the planet without being properly prepared for life in space. Vault-Tec, both founded and managed by the Enclave, publicly promised to safeguard Americans from a potential nuclear war, but in reality, the vault program was an elaborate social experiment meant to test a long list of variables simulating problems the Enclave might encounter in space. With overseers directly communicating with Vault-Tec, the Enclave would be fed data throughout the multi-generational experiment after which the Enclave would use this mass of findings to draw conclusions and blast off Earth for good.

This was kind of terrible content wise. A lot of really quickly mentioned things or stuff that was just skipped. Why did we annex Canada? Because we needed a route to transport troops. Why did the Enclave not expect the population to live? Because the vaults were experiments. Why do the enclave hate the people of the wasteland? What happened to the enclave? What happened to the east coast enclave? What happened during all of new Vegas? Who are the NCR and what do they do? Is there any kind of threat to them and that region since the enclave was destroyed? Maybe a legion of some kind? No mention of the capital brotherhood changing creeds and affecting the outcome of that entire region? Could have made this 5 minutes longer and covered a lot more and been a way better video.
Again that is all content wise. Presentation was awesome. Great voice, great music, great pictures (I loved the concept art.

I want to say something about the old and new fallout games. fallout 1 and 2 were unique but hard. fallout tactics was identical to fallout 1 and 2 but with different combat systems. fallout brotherhood of steel was WAY different but still fun. fallout 3 was WAY WAY WAY different from 1 and 2 but was amazing including the DLC. fallout new Vegas was the spiritual fallout 3 because it was fallout 3 but fallout 1 and 2 stuff like the NCR and some perks but still very fun game. fallout 4 on the other hand was amazing but could've been better. the fallout game series from fallout 1 to 4 was good. nuff said. seriously.

This video actually skips over the reason that technology is still analog in the Fallout Universe. Based on technological trends that are seen in the Fallout series we can assume that the defining divergence point, technologically at least, is that that either miniaturization either didn't occur or didn't catch on. This would lead to a plethora of problems in terms of natural resources so it makes sense that the Resource Wars occur.

So everything runs on nuclear power, even cars. Humanity kills itself because it's out of oil. ? Grade A writing. That aside, I think it's easier to figure out efficient use solar, wind and tidal than to, I don't know, sail across the pacific to attack another super power, maybe. Kinda wish fallout didn't try with the lore. Just, the vaults with shrouded history, and then nukes fell, we dunno what happened before lol.

I'm thinking about getting Fallout 4, before the new one comes out, I debated getting it the Christmas it came out but someone told me if you played Skyrim and didn't like it you wouldn't like fallout, but I am curious as fiction like this interests me but just seems hard to understand at the moment, would I need to play all of the fall out games or could I just start at fall out 4?

music is way way too loud. there are plenty of times where it washes over the speaker in this and its frustrating to have to rewind over and over and over to try and catch the same thing being said a few times before you can parse what it was. :/ and there r no annotation or subtitles so good luck to anyone who doesn't wanna waste a half hour doin this

I strongly believe that charter you make in fallout 1 is the same person from fallout new Vegas so many similarities for example when you wake up in fallout new Vegas you have a vault 13 suite if you have the game of the year edition it looks like the armor you get in fallout 1 just better graphics

The only thing i dont get aboit this recap, is if fallput 4 is before fallout 3 (story and lore wise) how has elder lyons been replaced and your character frozen for just over 210 years? When fallout 3 is only 180 years into the future?

actually. the first fallout game took place in 2161. over 100 years before the 70s or 80s of the 23rd century. and if I'm not mistaken, fallout 3 takes place near a decade prior.

So, if I'm correct, Fallout 3 took place 10 years before you woke up in Fallout 4? So Fallout 4 is basically a prequel but not? Sorry, I didn't play the other Fallouts except 4.
