Fallout 76 was announced this morning and the internet is already abuzz with theories. We may not have all the answers yet, but there are definitely some clues hidden within the short teaser trailer

My personal idea is that the 20th year is when they started letting people out to scavenge the capital of wasteland, hinting the trophies, such as mystery meat, to me being they've started running low on supplies after being there more Years than had been intended. This game will likely be revolving around the first settlements due to the time. Along with that, because of the time there will be a lot of new enemy's to face like early mole rats, pretty much anything that we saw in fallout 4 but pre evolution. There will likely be no: Raiders (Unless fellow vault 76 dwellers become them, super mutants, and the list could go on if it does tale place as early as it is stated as.
Edit: Also the pipe guns will likely be being built during this, or something of the sort
Another edit: Also (Again) some of the music won't exist as it would have been made I. The future, so more covers of music instead of originals.

In my opinion the best form of multiplayer would be a singleplayer game with a great campaign with support for up to 4 players. Something will likely be worked towards and the host will likely be the center of focus but i think that would be good. Me and my friends finished the forest the other day and were just looking for some other great coop game. I love fallout and I wont care if its only singleplayer or coop however if its an mmo (and thats pretty likely) then im expecting a dissapointment. Not because i think it will be a bad game but because it wont be story focused and thats why i play fallout.

wow. -
is this really a future of Fallout franchise? -
to be it more worst than ever, is Fallout really that about -rebuilding-? -
or did people nowadays misinterpret the meaning of it? -
man, its been a decade now since 1997, a year which Fallout 1 were born, -
the reimagining of post nuclear apocalyptic wasteland where there lies the harsh & cruelty of humanity in desperate moment, -
where your choice. -
& the consequences laid upon you in dark disturbing apocalyptic wasteland.

I dont understand why everyone is going over the biggest hint as to why it-s even in wv. Like, sure, that song and the pine trees tell you -Oh WV-. But the banners and streamers are obviously colored blue and gold. And you have a little sports thing in the vault. What does that mean? WVU. Both the school colors and reference to sports are tehre, and that might give us a little ground to guess exactly where in WV it is. Of course, I-m talking about the home of WVU, Morgantown.

I have some thoughts in this. First, I would be fine with multiplayer, but only if it is co-op. No battle royal, no dank souls invasions, and no ruining someone else-s world. I hope building isn-t part of it, although I could see how, because I personally just never did it in 4. I hope it is an rpg game, and not a goddamned perk game. And most importantly, get rid of level scaling. Bethesda needs to stop. That shit is played out and feels boring.

Man, it's going to be weird not having super mutants in a Fallout game. But it's going to be interesting seeing a super early version of the post-apocalypse!
I hope the multiplayer is opt-in co-op and opt-in PvP (separated, so if you want one you don't have to sign on for the other, that can be either online or local. That could be incredibly neat. I'm worried, but I'm going to be cautiously hopeful until we see more!

Things I'd like: A hugfe map, base building that is not as clunky as 4's, a LOT of weapons/armor, great multiplayer, not everyone versus everyone, a clan system showing who should and can kill who, and not as many gamebreaking bugs as 4.
What I don't want: microtransactions that get me 1000 dogmeat reskins. microtransactions in general, a battle fortnite style pvp mode, really, that's kinda of it.

this game is either going to be a complete success or a total failure I'm kind of leaning more towards it's going to be a failure but I'm still going to buy it simply because I want to give this game a chance but since it's going to be Co-op multiplayer it's very likely that there's going to be microtransactions but even still we should all at least give this game a chance
reply

Someone kill me if it's multiplayer. I'd be okay if it had a two player co-op, I'd totally be okay with that but if it's full blown multiplayer then that's a no from me.
I'm not interested one bit in a multiplayer Fallout just like I'm not interested in a multiplayer Elder Scrolls despite loving both Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. No multiplayer!

I am hoping Fallout 76, is a multiplayer game where everyone has to either work together or be a scavenger in a 100 player server to re build settlements and or raid them, working to rebuild be part of the institute, minutemen, brotherhood of steel, a raider, a vault dweller or a vault settler, and just try and survive in a big multiplayer game!

I predict it is near or in Harpers Ferry. The Reclamation day poster shows vault boy in front of a forest and there is a scout's life magazine which indicates a national park setting. Also vault 76 is near Washington DC and Harpers Ferry is the closest while still in West Virginia. It is actually on the border with Maryland. I could be wrong though.

Multiplayer means it's unlikely they will expand upon the building mechanics. In the trailer, the vault is still clean, the hero is wearing a brand new jumpsuit, so it seems possible that this will be a first days after the war, farming simulator. Maybe not so many mutants but more tribal stuff.

if they make fallout multiplayer I will personally pitch a tent at my local walmart and wait for them to release the game and I will buy every single one and break them all in half. If you would like to join me we will set a camps at every walmart on earth and destroy them all
reply

If it's anything like ARK I'm done. Not interested in a multiplayer Fallout, but if it's co-op maybe. Definitely won't be playing if there is PvP, no I'm not a carebear I'm not going to listen to elitist prices telling me how to play, when to play or build,
reply

i honestly don-t know why they made this game when elder scrolls V came out in 2011. i was in 7th grade and i am not a sophomore in college. like seriously? fallout 4 was definitely a waste of $60 in my opinion and i don-t want another one.
reply

For people complaining let me enlighten you. This is running on the same engine as Fallout 4. It is impossible for them to make an MMO on that engine. This will likely be a spinoff kind of like NV
reply

Could fallout 76 just be a fallout 4 add on where it's a multiplayer game to fallout 4 where vault 76 is a hideout to where no one can kill you until you go outside
reply

what-s the Origin behind the name 76? Overwatch or no relationship to the hero? i don-t think 76 is just a random number they picked. too much similarities
reply

That's great and hope for new things, not the same monster or same enemies. Wish more aggressive situations and environment. and of course tons of missions.
reply

I swear to new and the old gods
If it's a battle royal Todd Howard dies
If it's all online. Todd Howard dies
If it's all in a vault. Todd Howard dies

reply

With how skyrim online turned out, I'm not really keeping my hopes up for this game, but maybe it'll keep up the running theme of fallout games being fairly good.
reply

I was so happy hearing this trailer broken down and new Fallout talk, but at the end the guy mentions multiplayer, most of the excitement was gone.
reply

The vault itself looks like it might be where all of the people in multiplayer will start out and basically meet up before adventuring into the wasteland
reply

Will God Howard become an eternal hero or will he fail and die a villain? Please don't make it a mmo God Howard. In the name of Pete Hines, Amen.
reply

it would be cool if we could see vault tec its self as a major faction, since its way earlier than other games its bound to still be around.
reply

If I wanted to play a online game I would play COD. If this fallout is online based I will skip it and so will my brother and our friends
reply

The player-s gender has never been fully customizable in any of the fallout games, and it-s probably not going to be in this game either. -
reply

If it-s like rust and a GOOD pvp system that would be good because exploring the fallout universe together if done right would be good
reply

Polygon needs someone who is actually knowledgeable on the subject of Fallout to make these videos from now on. this is awful.
reply

I am so sick of everything being multiplayer these days. I play games like Fallout and Skyrim because I DONT LIKE MULTIPLAYER
