Thr swedish name thing is a bit misleading. They named their child that to protest the naming laws in sweden, for which they got a fine for not registering the boy's name by his fifth birthday. The child was not legally named that, as the court rejected the name. They later tried to get the boy named simply -A- but that was also rejected. The naming law was overturned in 2017, so its no longer an issue.

I know about the baby in the coffin thing! A lot of times, families couldn't afford to have proper burials for their young children or infants, so they would just stick them into the casket of an adult who was about the be buried and go, yeah sure, good enough

I know Catholicism used to and in some places still does say that any baby who was not baptized could not be buried in a proper religious ceremony so sometimes the babies would be snuck into the caskets of recently dead people so that they could receive burial rites.

honestly one of my faves!
(around 4: 35 the speaker in the subtitle is incorrect; and while -multiple speakers- is a good alternative for all of that cross talk i think some context for the joke Brian is making is important)

I am so scared, I got a video recommendation of a dude doing standup and talking about the -Albin- Swedish thing and then I go to the jackbox playlist to watch something and the prompt in this video is exactly that

The baby being buried at the bottom of the coffin could be to do with people believing at the time that an unbaptised baby would go to hell. Maybe they thought that burying it at the feet of a bishop would prevent that?

They complained about how they never elaborate on the answers but I'm pretty sure the announcer gives a short explanation or joke after most correct answers, they just don't turn on the announcer's beautiful voice

If I remember correctly, they believe the baby was a miscarriage, and was buried with the bishop in the hopes it you make it to heaven, as due to being a miscarriage, it wouldn't of been baptized

So. -This is not funny- and -I'm in hell- went against each other twice.
-I'm in hell- won first.
Then -This is not funny- did.
Science, I need help.

If anyone was curious, I believe the swedish couple who named their son gibberish were protesting the system where they had to have their baby name approved

So Peder Winstrup was a bishop in Lund, Sweden, the University of which town is my alma mater. I actually know one of the guys that opened his coffin

I feel like an under appreciated moment is Brian referencing Magritte-s pipe painting at 17: 34 when the -this is not funny- shirt pops up

why are the patrick and brian subtitles switched? i've watched enough unraveled to know what brian's voice sounds like and that is not it.

I saw that Swedish name and immediately leapt up and screamed -ALBIN-. The guy's parents weren't actually allowed to name him that though

So is anyone weirded out by the fact that Pat is supposedly EIGHT years older than BDG? Like, they seem like the same age.

8: 20 no naming a child that in Sweden was no legal, which is why the parents named the child that, in protest of the law.
