Emu Follows Her Human Dad Everywhere Soulmates When this emus first owner died, she should’ve been brought to view the body.
It sounds bizarre, but animals can tell the difference between life and death and knowing that her owner was never coming back would have helped her cope with the absence. I really recommend this for dogs and cats as well as any companion animal. All the way down to parakeets and especially for larger parrots

Thank you for saving her life when she became flockless, alone, and vulnerable. Cannot thank you enough for immediately rising to meet that need.
It's wonderful that Aphrodite immediately realized she gained a kind new flock where she was loved, protected, and safe. I am convinced this is part of the reason she is peaceable and gentle with you both, her human guardians.

You know what I notice above all else, in these (really special) relationships, between animals & people It's the people taking time with the animal. They take time to just -be- with the animal. If you think about it, that's something only animals do. People don't do that by nature.

I wish I could have an emu. It's not legal to keep them as pets in Australia. My. mum grew up with 3 pet emus, but they were semi wild as adults and came/went as they pleased.
US emus are all bred and domesticated, so if I wanted a pet emu, it'd have to come from the US xD

As a chicken well I farm keeper I call every bird a chicken, I just describe what it’s like then say chicken, like an owl would be: NIGHT FLYING CHICKEN. Or a emu is: BIG FLUFFY RUN CHICKEN. And a parrot would be: LOUD FLYING COLOR CHICKEN. You get what I mean

I bet the previous owner, who passed away, is looking down with a big smile on their face knowing that their emu went to the right people! She is so incredibly lucky to have found second owners who loved her as much as the first owner did.

Animals have emotions and we are closely related enough to respond to each other and communicate caring. This despite our ancestors and dinosaur/ bird ancestors diverging over 200 million years ago. I’m glad she has a safe, loving home.

They are pronounced eem-you. Kindly get it right. Americans seem to have a mental block with pronunciation of their name. They are an Australian bird, and their name is not pronounced your way in their own country. Gosh it irritates me!
reply

We have to insist on correct pronunciation. It is eem you. It has been for centuries and even 1st nations people pronounce it that way when not using their own dialect. Sorry this always gets me going. PS I love the video.

President Biden has clearly stated that he does NOT condone violence of any kind. Quit f'ing lying! The Republican party aka gun crazy fanatics have proven that violence is their ONLY means of communication.

Wildlife are not pets. I understand they're a sanctuary but how and why was the previous owner owning an emu In the Americas. Wrong continent. God can Americans just not do the exotic pet trade Thanks.

This is so lovely. we live in Oz, on a bush block, and the dad emu brings his family thru our land, around the house, and off down the drive every few days while they are young. Just wonderful.

Emus are on the Australian coat of arms along with the kangaroo. Like the kangaroo emus cannot walk backward but boy can't they run, and they dance like no one is watching.
reply

Please! The pronunciation of the bird's name is NOT ee-moo! It's eem-yew. I live in Australia and I see these birds in the wild all the time. ee-moo, good grief!

Crying & smiling through whole video this is so beautiful. Thank goodness you were able to take her. Animals provide such love & comfort in this life.

This is how emotionally mature people behave. Imagine if everyone was this mature, there would be no conflicts. What a pleasure to watch you 2in action.

Her previous owner was likely another gentle human male. It's great to see this bond between bird and man. She's super cute!
reply

Aaaaaw thats so cute, she's adorable. not all female Emu's are like Karen, even though I love her too (if you know you know)

At this point, I am realizing that we literally can tame and be loved by any animal. I mean, ANY animal. Wild, to domesticated.

All animals respond to love. It’s obvious the feelings are mutual between them.
