Pit Bull Dog Locked Away For Years Gets To Be a Dog Again Pittie Nation I’m glad this breed along with all the bully breeds are getting more and more positive attention. They are truly amazing dogs. So loving, and they always want to be cuddled with their human. Everyone I’ve had had been great with everyone and other dogs even small ones. It’s not the breed it their owners. Any dog breed can be aggressive if not brought up and trained right. I actually have a cousin that was attacked by a chihuahua when she was like 6 years old and had to have some facial reconstruction surgery. She had a fear of dogs forever. I don’t blame her. It took a little time but she got over it. Thanks to her sisters pit bull.

When you own any large breed dog that could cause significant damage to a person if they bit them, it's the responsibility of the owner to train and teach that dog. If an owner doesn't have the time or patience to spend time teaching and caring for their dog then they should get fish. Dogs love to learn. I've had pit bulls my whole life and have never had one even growl at a person. They're smart and non-aggressive. It's the owners who fail their dogs that should be held accountable.

I used to be wary of pibulls, too. But when I came to my parent's house, this one scary looking pitbull was the first one who warmed up to me among the different breeds that my parents have. It even obliges me to touch him every time I arrive. Thus, I came to understand that it's the people who trained them to fight because they have no choice which gave them a bad reputation. That pitbull is the one I missed among the many dogs my parents have.

The only bad pit bulls are the ones owned by butt heads, that want them to be aggressive, I know they mostly are real sweeties. But that is true of any dog. Even my twelve pound Lhasa Apso can be aggressive, not my fault adopted him as a mature dog. Much better now, but don't put your hand in the car, it is his space.

Pitbulls just suck man. Show the bad too. Dont listen. All about them. Intrusive. Have to retrain daily it feels like. Pee inside randomly. Oh yeah and they have that switch they can really turn on you and then seconds later with their tongue out happy act as if nothing happened.

I believe dogs are much better with training, how there treated and more. You’ll get more outta your dog by the time, care, love and so on.
Treat others including dogs the way you yourself would like to be treated! You get back what you put in.

People that are mean and cruel to dogs and animals in general are sad, lonely, unloved people. If they took a moment with animals maybe they would actually find someone who will care about them like the love of a cat or dog.

She is a total beauty. I hope you have many health, happy, playful and cuddly days with this precious little girl(if I were you I would try to stick up on her favorite baby shark toy
before stores are sold

So sad how people can stigmatize a breed because of a few news stories. I trust my Pittie around kids more than any poodle or chihuahua I've ever met. I've been bitten more by small breeds than any large breed.

Oh lordy. My baby girl Maxine does the same thing with her pink squeaky plush bone. 13 years with this crazy rescue pit mix and she's the goofiest big headed dog I've ever adopted. 10 / 10. Will adopt another!

I can't believe someone spat on her! I feel like that's more feral than any pitbull could ever even come close to being. Imagine, becoming what you are afraid of and blaming someone else for it
reply

too bad folks are scared of dogs with a 'bad rep'. by now it should be known its the fault of BAD PEOPLE! cool idea to maker more aproachable by dressing her. she does not seem to mind.
reply

Tears in my eyes and felt so happy that she was beginning to be herself and that it’s ok to enjoy life. Her progress says a lot about her human parents. That tutu idea is brilliant!

Lexy is now being a dog but first a great companion! She deserves what she's getting! You can't but LOVE her! Live and love long Lexy! Thanks for caring and sharing
reply

Thank you for saving and loving her. I have a pit myself and they r best breed ever. It's not the dog or breed, it's the owner the problem but not everyone knows it.

I love that the shark's name is Bruce! But even more, I love that this sweet girl was rescued and gets to have a wonderful life with people who love her. Great story!

I had a German shepherd and people would say that’s the kind of dog that kills people. I put a vest on him and suddenly he’s safe. People are weird.

You should have taken a pic of the ass that spit on you. That's assault. Attempted murder if the have a deadly communicable disease, i. e. HIV, et. al.

whoever brings joy to a poor animal's life, makes the whole world better (blessed Mother Mary said this in a private revelation not long ago)

Lexy is truly adorable! The way she carries her little shark around is just cuteness overload thank you for giving her the life she deserves.
reply

Unfortunately, some people have been mauled by a dog, and so they are terrified of any dog. Pittie or any breed for that matter.
reply

Did you notice the big happy smiles on her face She’s such a happy dog now. So glad she’s got a happy furever home now!
reply

Lexi has the best smile. You can tell that she is a great puppy. Thank you for giving her a forever home.
