Betta Fish Who Wouldn't Eat Or Swim Is Completely Transformed Faith = Restored
video description
by Balcombe, Jonathan. He is a marine biologist; all the studies in the book (about 300 pages) are about reef fish and sort of wildlife studies of them, but its great, and well-written, so enlivening, engaging and moving! He talks about the relationships between fish in the wild; you know about those groomer fish that eat the bits out of shark mouths So the shark who wants his teeth cleaned enters the reef, and those groomer fish can tell why he is there; not to eat them, but he wants his teeth cleaned. He opens his mouth, and in they swim! Youve seen this same species in the Asian-spa videos, where the people immerse their feet in the fish pond, and the fish swarm over the feet to eat off the dead skin And the book is chock-full of anecdotes of fish being able to communicate, to make friends, etc. Its great. Youll never see fish the same way again. Were not just anthropomorphizing; they really do recognize a friend, try to communicate, and have feelings, just like mammals do.

I have a betta fish named red. Hes my buddy. I always change his water. I noticed one day coming home. He was not in his bowl. I looked down and he was on the floor not moving. Im like no way. How did he jump out. This dude did some evil kinieval stuff. He made it from the kitchen counter top to the floor 4 ft down. I approached him hoping he was alive. I picked him up. He started to wiggle. Threw him in the tank immediately. He is now here with me alive still. He gets all excited when i get back. I never seen a fish like him act the way he does he is smart. He plays dead. It is hilarious.

A wonderful work - to bring a little life back to good health and happiness. It's such a goof lesson for us all - that different forms of life from our own can be effected by our care. Beyond that to learn that they can relate to us and communicate in their way an attachment to us. It happened in our family when a goldfish we had would only leap out of the water for one particular member of out family. It astonished us. Thank you so much for reaching across the species and showing us something we can also do for life.

sameee it was my first time keeping a betta. he was happy at first but soon he got infected and he stopped eating, and lost his colour. but then I searched for remedies and everything and I finally treated him. I learnt a lot through that process and how to take care of fish correctly. and honestly, it is a very rewarding experience to bring someone back to its healthy state. and betta fish are my favourite because of how interactive they are.

Hi, I'm so surprise and happy you can revive him in that condition. I've been trying to save mine and do lots of research, buy tons of medicine but it doesn't seems like working. I've 1 died betta and 2 are sick and trying to cure them.
Can you specifically state the name of the antibiotic and where to get them And what's your betta sickness
Really appreciate if I can learn from you and save my betta

My suckerfish died this morning, I had just had it for 24 hours. I still don't know what the issue was, my guess is that it was either too young (about an inch long, or it couldn't possibly survive in a brand new tank with very little waste to feed off of. I did give it little pieces of lettuce and cucumbers, but it wouldn't eat. If anyone can give me some tips for keeping suckerfish, I would appreciate it

Tried this with a sick Gourami recently. Its partner died so it got depressed and then got gradually sicker, it didn't help much to introduce two new ones into the tank since it probably was too sick to recover by its own. Unfortunately I think separating it into a smaller tank for treating just made it worse, but at that point it was either all or nothing. It passed away just a few days ago.

My pet beta fish has been on his side for 2 or 3 days.
I noticed last night he didn’t eat his food. Didn’t eat today either when I fed him.
I gave him a partial water change yesterday and took out his old plant that was in there
Going to pet store in the morning to learn what I can do to help him. He’s been my pal for 2 years. I really hope he can heal and recover too

It's really sad how everyone is desperate to be a backyard breeder (dogs) but these people don't care to care for fish. Nope that's not where the money is. but if responsible breeders are a thing for dogs why not fish Again, not where the money is

You do understand that YOU are the reason places like petco make the money doing exactly this abuse to the betta.
Nobody buys them. They won't sell them. simple as that.

She did a great job although I wouldn't say the constant water changes were good as they need a cycled tank and the bacteria that grows in it to stay healthy.

I am really suprised that the well intentioned twice a day water change didn't kill him. Very suprised. If i wanted to stress my bettas out. i am glad for him.

What kind of antibiotic did you use, and how did you figure the dose for the hospital tank I've attempted to help sick bettas, but the sick ones didn't get better.

To heal fish, you fix the environment it lives in and they'll heal and thrive. Same thing with you. Change your surroundings and you'll see great changes.

I would have not believed this poor fish could be saved. That takes real skill and love to bring him back to health the way she did.
