I am a fan of that show. I know some of those rules -
1. No lifts are permitted except for Argentine Tango, JItterbug, Salsa, and Contemporary dance, especially in the preliminary episodes. A penalty of 1 or even up to 2 points in your final scores for each illegal lift.
2. Baseline minimum content needs to be seen in the dance - usually at least up to 50 percent dance content in that dance. Here is what I mean in two types of dances as examples:
Samba - things like flea hops or splits would not be considered good samba content, but botafogos, samba rolls, voltas, maxixe movements, closed/open rocks, promenade runs, bounce actions, batukadas, cruzados walks, plaits, Argentine crosses, corta jacas, samba walks, crisscrosses - that's good samba content!
Paso doble - Any walks with the lead dancer's face down (if the partner is not on the floor, or just letting the follower do all of the work without you moving - that's not good paso doble content. But things like The Twists, The 8, The Chasse Cape, the 16, the La Passe, or Spanish Lines or any flamenco movements - are good paso doble content.
Up to 2, 3, 4, or even up to a 5-point deduction is slapped on the contestant for each obvious unrecognisable dance content in the dance. (Remember what happened to Master P in the Paso Doble with Ashly Delgrosso - the paso content was nearly lacking, and his characterization and theatricality in the dance was nearly 0, causing up to a 7 to 8 point deduction in the judges' final scores)
3. The contestant needs to have appropriate attire or matching attire to fit the type of dance or character of the dance or they face a loss of one point. For example, wearing gym shoes while dancing the waltz or quickstep would merit a one point deduction for improper ballroom dress.

I came here for Evanna Lynch since she was a contestant in dancing with the stars, yes I am a fellow Potterhead here and it's interesting to see Luna become a spectacular dancer! And I don't only know Evanna because of her character, I love Luna Lovegood but I do know that Evanna is a strong and wise woman, I know that this is unrelated but I just love Evanna Lynch sooo bloody much! And if you're a fellow Potterhead and people who aren't might think that I am just being weird and stuff, all I have to say is You're just as sane as I am get it? Well anyways Happy New Year!

I had been dancing at the collegiate level in the 1990s, so sadly, I am on the no dance list on DWTS.
