So character design it was horrible as some of the cats who have been literally describe in the music are not done right. For example macavity. In the movie he is a dark brown eventhough his song tells us he is a ginger cat. Also they ruined personalities. Mr mistofelees in the broadway production is bold and brave and amazing at magic that even Tugger sang the song about him but in the modern movie adaptation he can barely do any magic and he is always so anxious.
One more thing that I want to complain about is that how many characters got pushed away and felt as if they were deemed not important enough and also to make way for there protagonist Victoria to be the good girl in all of this. Specifically two cats who were barely included had pure in a bit of a mood after. Demeter and jemima. Demeter for me is probably my favourite character as she gives us a bit of a backstory to macavity as she is always paranoid and how he always singles her out majority of the time. Jemima also is an important character because she is literally the one who is the first to realise that grizzabella is perfect for the jellicle choice and I think is the first to touch her hand.

The dancing and music was really well done but the cgi and designs hurt the movie alot! If only they stuck with makeup and costumes instead of the weird cgi that looked so bad and made half the cast and dancers look the same. The best ones were the cats with clothes to be honest. they should of went more cat with the makeup and even did more clothes! I think it would of fit better. Victoria in a ballet cat outfit would of been everything!

Everyone here complaining about the terrible CGI, but could you honestly blame the CGI team? They were pressured and worked long hours just trying to finish this. I honestly feel terrible for what the CGI team had to go through just to get the movie finished, and the director definitely had a temper tantrum if they didn't do it the way he wanted them to look like.

I believe even the amazing movie Avatar the use of emotions made it better (the ears nose and ears as well as fangs and tails) such as when they hiss or the positions of their ears all give good emotions and more seemings of a cat (even if that's not what that movie aimed for and its still an amazing movie)

you know what? i would even be better if they painted their faces like at at easter shows when you were a kid. I remember kids with facepaint of animals running around at the fairs and geez that would have been perfectly fine honestly

Ok here's the thing about the noses, they're pretty much the same as human noses but they also aren't. So the ridge of the nose stays the same, but the end of the nose, including the philtrum, should be feline.

Okay so i basically realised that they didnt even need to cgi any more just do a little cat eye and black out the bottom of their noses to make them more cat like and that would have made them 1000% better

They had great actors, they had art with a great history and they just ruined it with bad design
I'm sad cos I actually enjoyed the movie after forcing myself to get used to the wierd looks

Proving that there can be such a thing as too much CGI. Uhhh, no. Avatar proved that there's no such thing. Cats 2019 proved that even with a very high budget, you can still screw up CGI.

The hands and feet should be paw like. The nose needs to be more cat like. Cat eyes and also some cat fangs and more hairy in nature. Maybe a few cat breeds thrown in
