I think Susan, Ali's best friend from high school, could be Tory's mother. I only say that because she was on the Karate Kid roundtable discussion a few weeks ago. I don't think Tory or any character for that matter has to be related to any already established character. Unless it's significant to the story then it doesn't matter.

I think I know who Tory's mom may be. If you truly paid attention to season 3, young Kreese's girlfriend is named Betsy Nichols, the girlfriend that died in a car accident when Kreese was in the army. Betsy & Tory share the same lastname. NICHOLS!
