Iman Vellani s journey to becoming a Marvel superhero was almost fated. The actress had even dressed up in her own, homemade Ms. Marvel costume for Halloween - so she was well prepared to step into the role.
From finding out she got the role on her last day of school with a Kevin Feige jump-scare, to FaceTiming with Brie Larson and having the real-life Captain Marvel as her mentor - well it was nothing short of a dream. Did we mention Vellani has NEVER acted professionally before?
Part of the fun and fluid vibe of the show comes from the fact that one of their directors encouraged the actors to improvise a whole lot before and after scenes. The fact that their first rehearsal was essentially just playing board games definitely helped with bringing those good vibes.
Iman Vellani may be green, but it didn t stop her from bringing all her superhero moves - and you might notice some familiar poses on screen! The actress also dove headfirst into stunts and wire work! Vellani had some great support since she spent some time working out with Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston.
That s just what happens when you ve got THREE Marvel productions filming on one lot in Atlanta. When they weren t filming in their home studios though, adventures in London ensued - and it s no surprise after all those amazing opportunities to bond that this cast and crew grew to be a true family.
