How about one from somebody who's never even watched the show
Either Rick or Morty is DYING THE WHOLE TIME. The comatose drain circler is is dreaming about the life he never had. That of a super genius, dimension and time hopping adventurer with a kid sidekick. The characters he is secretly aware are watching represent the medical staff waiting for the final moment. This would explain the 4th wall effect, the catchphrase crying out in pain, and the apparent lack of cohesive continuity

i personally thought that the president morty was from a universe where after him and rick went to this spa where they and their worst parts were separated he never conjoined with his sucky self and abandoned his rick because he thought that his rick was not perfect enough so morty created himself a robot rick to replace his real rick and he tortured all these mortys because he had no compassion which would also explain why he is different than all other morty's

Never thought about it untill now but #6 might have a little credit. I only say that as I have just started playing the Pocket Mortys app and in it there is an -Old Morty- character that u can catch that looks realllll similar to Rick. idk! lol. anybody else notice this?

There's no way Rick and Jerry are still in the simulation. The show is about continuinity, and thrm still being in the simulation would throw do much continuity away. Justin and Dan aren't like that.
