Top 10 [EPIC] apocalyptic mass death movie scenes of all time (humanity's end / disaster / threats) Is it just me or did the visual effects get worse as the movies got more modern Also, Sum of All Fears is easily the most realistic nuclear destination in any movie. They didn't try to do any overhead shots of the city, which as you can see from every other movie that does it, it ends up looking fake. Just a flash of light followed by a shockwave.

everyone is dead, except you.
the god tells you are alive and immortal.
god is pissed off because of earths death.
he maded the new earth.
the planets are angry because of the meteor.
the meteor goes to his home.
and now.
you will say goodbye to your mom, and dad.

The alien invasion threat is way more plausible than the fake threat of interference with the climate haven't we got enough to worry about with the little green men and such to worry about fake weather predictions. They can't even get the weather right from day to day.

The terminator nuke scenes are so unrealistic. ICBMS go miles above the atmosphere. You wouldn’t see them below you in an airliner. Also the rocket doesn’t enter the atmosphere. It’s a little cone warhead that falls unpowered.

A beautiful conclusion: You can't run away from the destruction/ end if initiated from God (through nature. Try to make and save the place, people, surroundings, environment beautiful wherever you live. That's the only chance.
reply

Despite the janky CGI, I find the older scenes to be more impactful. Likely because they used practical effects and miniatures, making the scenes more compact and giving the destruction a better sense of scale

Pandemic is the most realistic and the most horrific. You just there, not knowing when will be your turn. Even if you survive, society is collapse, all the hope is gone, despair is everywhere.
reply

the always get it wrong, an ELE asteroid needs to hit the atmosphere perpendicular to the earth, otherwise it would skim off into space, they also travel far too slowly in the movies!
reply

the AI take over from Terminator with all the Nukes is by far the scariest. There can be survivors for the natural disaster ones even the huge comets but aint nobody survivng the nukes.

2012 wasn't reversal of the magnetic field, a non existent type of cosmic radiation was heating up the Earth's mantle, creating extra magma, destabilising the tectonic plates!
reply

I feel like Contagion would've been a better movie to put as the virus, because I think it really insinuates pandemic instead of epidemic.

I mean where would you even go if a meteor hits or entire landmasses do a 180 flipbest to hope for is try to be with family or loved ones
reply

I alway wondered about deep impact wpild you be instantly killed by that giant wall of water or is the logic the same as a tsunami
reply

Why would anyone be honking the horn in 2012 What are they trying to signal, for the breakinng earth crust to stop hindering the road
reply

Funniest thing about 2012 that they neglect to mention: The Earth's magnetic poles swap constantly lmao. And they dont do this
reply

I gotta say that nuke scene in The Sum of All Fears looked really realistic, especially for a 2002 movie. Props to that director
reply

Deep Impact and Independence Day scenes are done so well, particularly comparing them to San Andreas and Geo Storm
reply

The problem with the massive tsunami waves is that it wouldn't go that far in land. Max is 3-4 miles.
reply

Love the scene with that old geezer, carelessly reading his newspaper, just before he gets flushed away.
reply

Do pretty much the California coast, NYC and DC I need to stay away from in particular. Noted
reply

One way to get your chances higher of survival is to not live in overpopulated areas

Scenes from Outbreak. Hmmm where have I seen that before. Can’t put my finger on it

RIP Transamerica building. It and the Golden Gate Bridge are always the first to go.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how ugly those football uniforms at 15: 08 were
reply

Sum of All Fears is the ultimate tom clancy movie. I wish they made more of those.
