I remember watching the moon landing as a child. A couple of years later, we were all in the IMC (instructional materials center, now simply called media centers or libraries) when Apollo 13 was returning to Earth. Literally the whole school. I remember the older students and the teachers literally holding their breath as the capsule was out of contact as it came through the atmosphere and the collective gasp as the contact was reestablished. That should have been at least an honorable mention.
On 9/11, my classroom was the one where the coverage was being broadcast because I wasn t seeing my groups (gifted/talented) yet. All day, my colleagues were coming and going to hear the latest reports.
I did see part of the Bronco chase, but I didn t pay much attention. As far as I m concerned, OJ literally got away with murder.

Great video.
I know I said this in a previous video, but learning Owen Hart died during the Over the Edge Pay-Per-View in 1999 is something I will never forget.
I didn't see what happened initially, but I walked back into my grandmother's living room, and that's when Jim Ross announced Owen died from the fall.
People have said watching him die was horrifying, and I can't blame them, but how do you think the fans in the arena were experiencing, since he died right in front of them.
Its a traumatic experience.
R. I. P to all the people who died when these events happened.

There's one I am reminded of in terms of sports/entertainment. The live heart attack of Jerry The King Lawler on WWE RAW. While fans at home didn't see much, we could hear it. Lawler was commentating mid-match when fans at home could hear a sort of snoring/wheezing noise. Before long, WWE officials were ringside to attend to him. Lawler was rushed to a hospital where it was determined he had suffered a heart attack. He luckily survived and returned to RAW a few months later.

I was 5 years old when 9/11 was too young to comprehend what I was seeing on the TV but the look of shock on my family's face is something and of course the tragedy it will never be truly forgotten. R. I. P to all those who perished and for those who still struggling I feel your pain. Even as adults I don't think we fully learn to comprehend what happened that day and so many days of terror since.

I had a teacher who was a finalist for Challenger. I still see that image burned in my mind. Maybe I'm biased, but I think that was the enduring tragedy for Gen X until 9/11.
I don't even know whether you guys showed the actual explosion. I had to close my eyes. Didn't realize it would still hurt so much after 35 years.

January 6th should absolutely be on this list. You're just too afraid of alienating trumpers. Yeah, let's just try to pretend the whole thing never happened. Because ignoring the lessons pf history has always worked out SO well for us in the past.

My job in the usaf was air defense at the northeast air defense sector in new york, im still angry that this incident happened because it was preventable with information leading up to the murder of thousands of Americans

I was too young to understand but my mother was so scared of the 911 attack. She called her brother aka my uncle who lived closed to the Pentagon and thanked goodness he and the rest of my family were safe.

9\11 is still very real to me. I will never forget seeing people falling to their deaths on live TV. The Challenger explosion too. I was in 6th grade, and they aired it for the whole school.

9/11 was a much bigger deal than Waco, but maybe equal to Challenger as I wasn't old enough to remember Challenger. The Moon landing in terms of humanity's history has to be #1.
reply

. 9/11 not being number 1 is idiocy of the highest order.
People all over the world remember exactly where they were and when as it happened.

The 9th grade project on the NASA space program I did included the Moon landing. That s one small step for man one giant leap for mankind.

I'm calling it - if they don't put the R. Budd Dwyer incident on here, they're full of shit. By the way, I'm typing this before watching.

I remember watching the soccer game where Christian Erikson went into cardiac arrest. It was terrifying, I m so glad he s ok

Since y'all had the Soccer player collapsing on here, I thought Damar Hamlin collapsing on the field would be on here too
