Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
we’re counting down our picks for the best film franchises that only consist of two movies. Our countdown includes movies It, Top Gun, 28 Days Later and more! Which two-part series is your favorite Honorable Mentions: Rescuers (1977) & Rescuers 2 Down Under (1990) (a Fine and Interesting Movie from 1977 not the greatest but still fine (minus the inappropriate picture of a woman in the window) and a Criminally Underrated Cult Classic from 1990 a decent sequel and still better than Ralph Breaks the Internet and these films could be made into both remakes)

Honorable Mentions:
Dune and Dune Part 2
-Another film split into two parts, I may be cheating a bit since the sequel isn't out yet as of the time I'm writing this, but these surpass David Lynch's version.
Finding Nemo and Finding Dory
-Pixar's other duology. And now Inside Out is about to become one too.
The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
-Everything is awesome!

Film series that SHOULD have ended with their second movies but, sadly, didn't:
Alien/Aliens
The Terminator/Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Batman '89/Batman Returns
Home Alone/Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)/The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Halloween (1978)/Halloween II (1981)
The Godfather/The Godfather Part II

Andy Muschietti was the reason why I watched THE FLASH
I just love when horror directors make superhero movies
And despite everything that caused the movie to bomb, I had a really good time watching it. He was able to create a fun and exciting film experience
I really hope he gets to direct DCU's BRAVE AND THE BOLD, because he's amazing

It Chapter 1 is so much better than chapter 2, as it was in the book. It is simply a sweet story about childhood friendship where the adults are the real villains, Pennywise is simply a manifestation. Whereas the adult section never has the same innocence and feeling, it is a story about broken adults with no clear villain

I love the GREMLINS franchise and THE INCREDIBLES franchise. But why weren’t there honorable mentions like THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, MONSTERS INC. and UNIVERSITY, FINDING NEMO and DORY, PACIFIC RIM, CLASH and WRATH OF THE TITANS, ENCHANTED, and ZOOLANDER

HM:
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective/Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
Shanghai Noon/Shanghai Knights
The Mask of Zorro/The Legend of Zorro
National Treasure/National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Breakin' (1984) & Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo (1984) Love this Franchise If It Was up to me I would've made an Animated series based on those films that's how much I'm a fan of Breakin'
reply

Honestly, I wish Into and Across the Spider-Verse was on this list. Yes, I know Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently being worked on, but for right now, this should be on here.
reply

You are missing Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2 U. This is a definite 2 movie franchise as the 3rd movie that is hinted at in the ending looks like will not be made.
reply

I would put A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey on this list, but there is a 3rd book in the series, so there's a good chance a 3rd movie will be made eventually too.
reply

I love the IT duology, the performances are terrific are across the board, especially from Bill Skarsgard. It works as a coming of age movie, not just a horror film.
reply

I think it chapter 2 didn’t rely so much on bringing back the kid actors like this isn’t no way home we would’ve been fine not seeing the young losers club
reply

Batman and Batman Returns should be on this list.
No, Batman Forever and & Robin aren't in the same universe. That's not a valid argument.

reply

The Hustler and The Color of Money are both underrated movies. The latter should be included on a Top 20 list of Martin Scorsese movies.
reply

Sometimes, the best film franchises come as duologies. Case in point, the _Kill Bill_ duology. Uma Thurman dominated that two-parter.
