we’ll be looking at big-budget movies that were meant to inspire multiple installments, but couldn't even get past one entry. Our countdown includes Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events, Green Lantern, The Last Airbender, Mortal Engines, Universal’s Dark Universe, and more! Which never-to-be film franchise do you think was the biggest mistake

kinda wish the 2004 series of unfortunate events got a sequel as i enjoyed it but do love the tv series.
wow even back then universal tried to force the universal monsters into a franchise.
fantastic 4 really couldn't catch a break of having just bad movies/the incredibles being how you do it right.
thought compared to their other films 2017 power rangers was alright(though really shouldn't think a film should go into 5 even if successful as that's about as easily pretentious as thinking a movie will become a franchise when it hasn't even been released/it's clear the 1st wasn't good)
will give evolution respect that it woke toriyama up out of retirement into reviving dragonball that he left on a great note.
so glad last airbender just ended as the series is just better animated though liked a few things in the new one.

F4 wouldnt have sucked if fox hadn't meddled with what trank wanted to show in the trailer that were criminally cut from the movie. Scenes include
. army shooting at the thing
. Sue storm crying over johnny
. Battle in the city
. And many many more possibly good scene in the trailer that were unfairly cut from the movie.
The only scene i enjoyed is the boss fight and not even that can make me say its a good movie
So far i only liked it bc the movie showed so much potential in the trailer only for fox to meddle and screw it up

Van Helsing knew exactly what it was. Absolutely dumb fun as Richard Roxburgh's portrayal of Dracula clearly indicated. The character designs, gothic vibe and host of various iconic universal monsters was just a wonderfully potent mix that kept me entertained. Also, wolverine becoming a werewolf Who else could have done it better
Side note: The whitewashing criticisms of Prince of Persia Where was that when they blackwashed The Little Mermaid recently

I personally think that Dragon Ball has potential to work as a modern live-action adaptation as long as it remains faithful to the source material instead of making something that barely resembles Dragon Ball. It worked for Pokemon Detective Pikachu from 2019 and the live action One Piece series on Netflix. Of course, not everything NEEDS to be adapted into live-action, but a Dragon Ball live action adaptation could work if given to the right hands.

One of these is much more easily explained. _The Golden Compass_ was a lame attempt at adapting a trilogy that was deliberately written as an atheist's _Narnia_ or _Lord of The Rings_. A series of novels are much easier to get as bestseller status than to make a movie a hit. especially when you have to butcher it so bad all of the ideology is lost in the translation. or rendered as childish as it always was.

I thought for sure the DCEU could’ve been on this list.
Black Adam seemed like the start of a new awesome adventure into the franchise, but instead WB got in the way, removed Henry Cavill from the franchise, and release 3 painfully bland DC movies without having the universe end properly.
Now it’s up to James Gunn to try and make a DC cinematic universe the right way

Got to John Carter, listened to comments, turned video off. John Carter's failure to get sequels has nothing to do with the quality of the movie as anyone who has watched generally enjoyed it. But Disney could not be bothered to push it, so few watched. Ah well, blame Disney again.

Double Dragon (1994) Like This Movie Alot back then but It was the 2nd Live Action video game movie after Super Mario Bros. (1993) So that means It was going to get trampled In the box office Mortal Kombat (1995) Tomb Raider (2001) & Resident Evil (2002) were lucky to get sequels

Oh yeah, there’s got to be away if future filmmakers ever do a reboot of Power Rangers to crossover with The Ninja Turtles in there own universe this time it’s going to be from Universal Pictures and it’s also going to be a knock off of the M. C. U Film Franchise’s!
reply

I think the power rangers 2017 was not perfect but it didnt deserve that hate. it was a good adaptation for the modern new time. and It tried really hard to be new, modern and be nostalgic. And that was the mistake in my opinion. Be Nostalgic or complete new and modern

dude actually there's a good reason for make a avatar live action, and that is, not everybody like animated series, some people in the west still have this idea of animation being just for kids, so a live action can tell this story for more people and a bigger audience

One that is a guilty pleasure for me would be the league of extraordinary gentlemen. The notion of combining a bunch of the worlds, most famous literary characters in one story has amazing potential. Definitely franchise I would not be opposed to getting rebooted.

Watchmojo should make a video about book authors who appear in their movie adaptations. Idk how many have, but I know Stan Lee is the most notable. Also Stephenie Meyer in Twilight and Breaking Dawn. But yeah I was thinking that’d be an interesting video.

I believe Power Rangers' failure to barely make a profit is because it was going up against Logan, Beauty and the Beast, and Kong Skull Island. And all those movies came out before Power Rangers.
I really wanted to see a new design for Lord Zedd.

The only thing I will say that was good about Dragonball: Evelution was that it made Akira Toriyama come out of retirement because they ignored everything he told them, changed stuff he put in, and basically kicked him out of the writing room.

Sony has made good superhero films. Like I like TASM 1 and 2 and Andrew deserves a third film also the Venom are films are good. But yeah they messed up with Madame Web with how you described it. It's simple Sony JUST COPY THE DAMN COMIC BOOK
reply

I like it when Hollywood Executives are like Let's take a popular franchise and make an adaptation that's NOTHING like the source material. Because we know exactly what people want to see!
And it fails miserably EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

reply

I saw Warcraft in the theater, and at the time there was no talk of making a sequel, though I did want one. Then the scandals associated with Blizzard destroyed any chance of that sequel due to the company's loss of popular appeal.
reply

I like Speed Racer. It's not the greatest movie ever made, duh, but it doesn't deserve the hate. Its fun, it's weird, and the fact it acts like it's more serious than it knows it really is makes it silly in a good way
