I really love TCG/CCG, and Magic was my first ever, I also would like to shout out WWF/WWE Raw Deal based around professional wrestlers(one of my absolute favorites ever, Marvel Overpower(it was very stylish but the game never took off sadly, Star Wars Customizable Card Game(playstyle was lacking, the Lord of the Rings TCG from 2001 as well(It deserved better, but was pretty popular when the films were being released) was glad to see MTG brought LOTR back into the card game scene.
I do not play anymore because anyone who has, knows how expensive it gets to keep up, and with how frequent expansions get released, you need a lot of dispensable income. Luckily there's still Yugi-Oh Duel Links on mobile to scratch that itch, and no need to spend money or spend a lot less to be competitive. I know I would love the One Piece game too! Called the top 3 too. the only way you can rank it.

Suprised Chaotic and Cardfight Vanguard made it on this list, but no Future Card Buddyfight. It is the only game I know of that lets me equip a sword or pilot a Megazord to then smash my opponents face in alongside my demon lord dragon partner, then finish them off by dropping a giant flame sword on them. For those who played the game hope you get these references. Also I laugh when you say Yugioh is the most easiest game to pick up if you see how many negate cards and rule deciphering there is in today’s format you never want to play again. If don’t believe me Konami has even said that pendulum summoning is way too complicated. But still love the game for my main boss the legendary Blue eyes white dragon.

First TCG was Yugioh, but parents werent fond of the summoning monsters mechanic. So I wasnt allowed to continue. I picked the game up again since Master Duel dropped and still going strong in the TCG. I have a regional next month (I play Spright. I've dabbled a bit into MTG and Pokemon (Not too fond of the games. Too slow for me) and currently play Lorcana as well. The only thing holding YGO back is prize support.

Actually magic was not created by Hasbro or wizards of the Coast. It was created by Richard Garfield who adapted another game he had created. It also is not just a two-person game. If you aren't playing, you should give it a try. I've introduced probably a hundred people to it and have been playing for almost 30 years

Magic is overpriced as hell and way too slow.
Pokemon will always be infinitely better as a video game.
But yugioh had always been a card game since day 1. The games are card games. the anime is a card game.
It's the truest card game amongst them, so that fact it ain't on top is quite literally a crime.

Duel Masters, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Digimon were some I've collected.
(Duel Masters had really cool looking monsters)
(I really want to see all Digimon but it's difficult when there's 1400)
(Yu-Gi-Oh has infinite monsters)
(Pokemon is getting that TCG mobile game which I think Digimon needs)

Arkham Horror and Marvel Champions aren't trading card games, per se, they're Living Card Games -- packs have a fixed set of known cards, no randomness, no reason to trade. Android: Netrunner is the same, but since it's based on WotC's NetRunner, which _was_ a TCG, I'll give you that one.
reply

Do your Homework WatchMojo! Arkham Horror and Marvel Champions are Living Card Games (LCG. No boosters, no trading and fully cooperative. Both good games, but they should not be included in this list. And you missed Grand Archive, which is kind of niche, but a rising star in TCG.
reply

Nice but there are a couple of others that should have been on the list, Doomtown and Legend of the Five Rings. Like many, the 1st one I played was MtG followed by Vampire, the Eternal Struggle (formerly Jyhad.
reply

Whoever says Yugioh is #1 are delusional Konami slaves.
Theres a reason Elite duelist are quitting the TCG and going strictly casual like Master Duel. Also the game is so easy Cheat in.

reply

Some of these brought me back, so nostalgic. I would’ve added Doctor Who battles in time but they were mainly UK based. Or Match Attack, i am surprised this isn’t here
reply

MTGO and MTG Arena alone are enough to put MTG at the top of the mountain by itself. Plus it is hard to beat the feeling of an old school booster draft.
reply

Don't think there's been an easier to guess top 3 than this list. Hope no one was surprised by Magic taking the top spot. Great list, though.
reply

Don't know how ygo is 3rd to pokemon's 2nd, that should definitely be swapped as card games go. MtG is and forever will be the greatest though.
reply

The reason why Yugi Oh isn't number 1 because Pokemon exist.
Also the reason Pokemon isn't number 1 because Magic the Gathering exist.

reply

Yugioh was always my favourite Trading Card game, not to mention my first ever. Played very little with both Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering.
reply

Respectfully Yugioh was fun when it was simple probably till XYZ but the game got so complicated that it made me stop playing it
reply

I still want to make my own card game. Magic being number 1 is no surprise. I wish Future Card Buddyfight made the list
reply

YU-GI-OH! =.
Duel monsters, Vanguard, Choaotix, And That New Disney TCG NEED THE DUEL LINKS / MASTERS TREATMENT.
