I liked Labyrinth much much more than The Dark Crystal. I thought Secret of NIMH went too fantasy, especially in the ending which basically has a mouse using the force with a magic crystal (which is not in the original book. Plus Don Bluth mouths always look a little weird to me. The Black Cauldron is a mess of a film that mashes random elements from the the first two Prydain Chronicles books (The Book of Three and The Black Cauldron. A terrible movie, but it did introduce me to the fantastic books by Lloyd Alexander.

Beastmaster, conan, stardust, legend, and dark crystal are on here Seriously, what does not overlooked fantasy mean for you You guys forgot The Wizard of Oz Btw. Probably should put it after the smash hit Bed Knobs and Broom Sticks, the 9th grossing movie that year with 5 academy award nominations. You know, a hidden gem no one saw. And you forgot The Lord of the Rings. Not sure where that would be on this list but probably in the top 5

I remember asking my dad to set up the weird movie device that had the movies on these things and had to insert the cover of the movie into the machine to flip said movie to watch the second half just to watch Sceret of NIHM as a kid. There was also the first two star wars movies and a Muppet fairytale movie. Though that last one had two different stories one on each side

Strings (2004) is a movie about marionettes and this is incorporated into the film's fictional universe. When a string attached to a moveable limb is cut, nothing can reanimate a body par. Once a string is cut nothing can repair it or bring back to life whatever it was attached to. If the head string is cut, it results in permanent death.

Thar's not a glaive. A glaive is a Japanese pole arm. The thing from the movie looks far more like a throwing star.
With a name like 'Dragonslayer', that movie is guaranteed to be bad. By the way, a couple movies you missed are 'Strange Magic' and 'Voyage of the Unicorn'. The book version of 'The Black Cauldron' is better.

I actually like these movies when they came: Return to Oz; Time Bandits; Secret of NIMH; Willow; LadyHawke; Krull; Conan the Destroyer, & the Barbarian; The Beastmaster I, & II; Excalibur; Bedknobs, & Broomsticks; Legend; Everything else I've either never seen / heard of; / cared to see.

What no Golden Compass it's a good movie. With Bedknobs and Broomsticks the same actor from Mary Poppins. Watched Last Unicorn and Lord of the Rings from Rankinbass. Watched Secret of NIMH wished it was more accurate with the book.

Return to Oz is a childhood favorite of mine. I also love/fancy The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008, Willow, Krull, Stardust, Peter Pan (2003, The Secret of NIMH, Dragonheart, Ladyhawke, Excalibur, Stardust, and The Black Cauldron.

I was waiting for The Dark Crystal to pop up, I was almost disappointed until it came up as Number 1. It's plot may not be the most advanced, but the puppetry, stages and visual effects are amazing!

Im sorry but the title of this list is all wrong. This are not 18: 32 movies most of them are classics, some even masterpieces. Many of them have a rightfull spot in the Fantasy Films hall of fame.

Flight of dragons was such a huge favorite growing up. I still adore it to this day despite how old it is at this point. Same goes with Willow can't count how many times I watched that as a kid.

My favourite films are Hawk the Slayer, Labyrinth, Kull the Conqueror, Dark Chrystal, Lady Hawk, Krull, Solomon Kane and both Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer, plus Red Sonja.

Spiderwick chronicles terrified me as a kid. Looking back it is still terrifying and I’m 20. This was way scarier than it had to be. This was a nickelodeon film.

Willow and The Dark Crystal were two of my favourite fantasy films. I'm glad that they're being introduced to newer generations, and even spawned short lived series.

no mention of Labyrinth, The Secret Garden, Lion and the Wardrobe, Alice in Wonderland, or The Hobbit. Never seen The Fountain.
