Acrylic pours - usually you have a wet base colour, which you then pour diluted colour on top of, as it helps with the overall flow of the colours. The dye version was just too thick in consistency for the pour effect you were attempting, and the hair was dry which didnt help with the flow.

having never seen this method before and 0 dye experience the thoughts I am having that might lead to more preferred outcome:
1. thin the color down even more if possible
2. wipe off the extra dye from the comb between strokes to limit unwanted overlaps/blending

Personally not keen but probably look better and be easier on an actual human cause the most annoying thing about those heads is the amount they suddenly move and jerk it drove me crazy when I was hairdressing one tiny knot and you break their necks lol

if you did other colors that looked more pleasing to the eye, colors that go together well, it would come out way better, but other then that you did great! not the best but it still looks good

It kind of reminds me of prism hair, a. k. a. pastel rainbow. I mean its not great by any real standards, but I think thats what people who use the drip method or going for.
