Pro hairdresser follows a diy haircut tutorial
video description
The real hack isn't the cut, but the hair itself. I don't even comb mine daily. It is so silky, I can run my fingers through and tangles just smoothen out.
For years I flipped my hair over into a pony tail and cut off whatever suited my whim and got compliments on my hair all the time. I just evened out the ends as best I could and cut face framing layers separately and it looks like an expensive cut. Stopped working the moment I lightened my hair and the texture went for a toss and the streaks showed up flaws in the cut. I still cut it myself, but it won't look like this till I go back to my normal colour. I tie my hair in a knot all the time, which gives it waves: p Don't even own a dryer. I don't think this is so great for a tutorial, it is more about people enjoying creativity and having fun and being able to pull off whatever result.

I have a lot to say =)
1. cheap hair scissors are $10 on amazon.
2. besides the fact that hair o the mannequin is straight, it is also thin and put in in bunches, which makes it quite different from human hair, especially thick and wavy/curly. Brad doesn't brush it to even out when he makes the first cut. All that together creates those uneven shaggy edges.
3. DIY haircuts are much harder for straight hair as precision needed. Wavy/curly - DIY works great.
4. I cut my hair myself. And with my 2c-3a hair I like my DIY results better than even $150 haircuts (LA prices. tho I have hairdressing training and a bit of experience and I also thin my hair. I also put only 1 band where I want to cut and cut pointy. And then even out the bottom to make U other then V. So these tutorials really could be better. But I DO support DIY haircuts.
5. Dear Brad, I wonder if you could give us good DIY tutorials?

All the stylists in chat having a panic attack.
My brain is going through all the calculations of how and why this DIY cut leaves so many with a shelf. I can see how with some adjustments it could work in a pinch, but there are a lot of corrections needed for it to have a hope of being even.

I went to the salon a week ago and I asked her to do me the wolfcut and she literally made a thick layer of my hair just like miss manny quinn it looks so bad but honestly I would've done it better at home. SHE DIDNT EVEN WET MY HAIR BEFORE CUTTING! and didn't style it at all.

I feel like the first DIY only worked on mary jane cause her hair seemed kinda wavy at the end, and since the mannequin's hair was completely straight, it just didn't work out. Plus, it's easier to see mistakes on lighter colored hair.

Whenever someone goes to a hairdresser after cutting their own hair, its because it didnt work. Thats confirmation bias for hairdressers. We dont go there when it works out lol

Honestly yes people take years to grow out their bangs but for me it only took 6 months for it to grow to my normal hair length (a bit higher than my elbows )

I literally hate watching Brad's videos cause every time I either cut or dye my hair halfway through. At least I made it to 12: 58. I now have a wolf cut.

I really love how Brad starts almost every video by saying we're beautiful/gorgeous. It really makes me feel much better about myself.
