Thanks for this one, Brad. I've done the unicorn type cut for years and it's never failed me. I tried a butterfly last year and switched back to the unicorn again because it just works better for me. It's never occurred to me to cut my hair upwards instead of straight across, I'm sad to say, and I just hacked off an inch or so perpendicular. my layers and shape look great. I wasn't trying to get this particular look with the curtain bangs, but i loved the front of this with the second cut. It really helped me with the shape of the grown out butterfly and I can't wait to style it tomorrow. It was the balance I think I needed. And I didn't point cut it! I had done a trim about a month ago and something just felt off. This fixed it. Thanks again.

Hi Brad
Don’t know who to ask
I dyed my hair golden brown on top of bleached hair then I refreshed it after a month then I dyed it dark ash blond but it came out as expected reddish brown
Now I’m thinking to tone it with Wella T14 and 30 volume developer would that turn it to dark ash blonde
Oh I also have some light hair at the bottom unintended highlights and natural brown hair roots
My natural hair has natural highlights

Me not having idea who Sabrina Carpenter is or what the haircut is, still sitting down and watching only to see a diy version of the haircut i have right now. I have been wondering how to get long layers by myself for years never finding a simple tutorial on it. I guess i now know how to keep this haircut lol. Thank you Brad!

You are such a good influence to all of us watching, love it when you react to people dying their hair. Love your vids brad. And also your girlfriend is so beautiful love her natural hair type

I just did this after watching the video a few times overnight and omg I looooove it. I haven’t had a haircut in two years bc of prioritizing my daughters health over myself and now I’m like omgggg I’m a new woman, lol. Thanks Brad!

I so wish I knew what hair styles would work for me given that I'm older but try to keep up appearances. Which is very difficult given my responsibility of care of 2 developmental disabled persons and physical disabled persons.

But when you cut in the front ponytail you didn't cut straight through and the hair you cut off was angled. Do we need to do that too I have super long hair with very short bangs, will this cut still work for me
reply

I didn't want a SC look but as soon as I watched I gave my hair the cut you show at the first ponytail. My mom fixed a little bit the ends at the back and now I have fresh nice full looking hair with long layers

I was planning on going with butterfly cut, but welp. This is a sign not to lmao. Will be trying this instead as I like that layers are longer - I'm not ready yet to cut as much as butterfly cut requires.

could you not simply skip the first ponytail and only do the one in front of your face =) this is an honest question; I cant really tell what the difference would be if you skip the first cut
reply

Okay but, if you could do these DIY haircuts actually ON yourself (like wearing a wig, that’d be helpful. It may also help you understand some of the common mistakes people make and why.

I can't WAIT to see the fail video's when people don't do what you did but instead just make stuff up as they go along or do it on hair that's too short or they use craft scissors.

Brad, you are litreally amazing! used to have such bland hair, but now it looks so lively bcs i used ur butterfly haircut tut! Plus you are an amazing person and entertainer! Ly

Can you explain better how to grab the hair before the cut, the video doesn't shows that part and it's confusing. People maybe will do it wrong if it is no clear. Thank you!

i had a dream last night that I was cutting my hair with perfect straight sections and it was about to come out so pretty but I woke up before seeing the results

You know what I am just out of the bathroom where i washed my hair and tried to do exactly Sabrina hair style inspo. Brad you are so relatable, as much as gorgeous

I’m definitely going to try this one tonight. I think it will look great on my thick, wavy to curly hair. I already have my cheap dollar store hair scissors.

That blower leaves my hair very dry like the doll. I don't know if it is the technology or what, but using same products as usual, and that happens. $350 waisted.
