Here's how I cut my hair This is my go to long layer haircut for my fine hair. Get in touch with Nadirah Nadirah. Volpegmail. com Lisa Susanna: How amazing it is to see a competent hair Stylist, who actually works WITH the Client. I've had nothing but bad experiences trying to get my hair cut into layers. They were either too chunky (which is problematic for my thin hair, too short or not blended very well. And don't even get me started on the face framing. I have explained exactly what I wanted (and what I did not want, brought lots of photos, even. Yet in the end the hair dressers always did what they thought looked good. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they are the professionals and they do their best to work with whatever hair type they get. But if I ask for Long layers that are max. three Inches Shorter than my hair, I don't want to see super short pieces poking out of my head that were not there before. So I have been cutting my hair myself, a blunt cut, no layers. I hope to find a good hairdresser, when I feel the Need to have layers again: D

I want to get my hair cut but I'm so scared after my last haircut. I always ask for long layers and some thinning because I just have that much hair. I have requested the same thing for years (over a decade) and this past time they gave me something close to a mullet Kind of like what you guys said, bowl cut in the front and long in the back. I also ask for face framing layers with the shortest being no shorter than my jaw/chin (whichever I felt like at the time. My hair has finally grown out enough where it doesn't look horrible. Any tips for a future haircut and avoid this again?

I have really long really thick hair and when I ask for layers they do long layers then bring in thinning shears. I'm left with really chunky layers and thin ends. I don't know how to braid but if I did they would look so sad. I've asked them to not use the shears but I honestly wonder if they maybe weren't taught in school to cut thick hair without them. Hair is hair but it does make me upset when you spend years growing it out and after not getting what you want time and time again you're ready to just throw in the towel and cut it all.

So helpful I took notes. Getting my haircut tomorrow and definitely using these tips. I've moved and I've been to this stylist once before and I liked her and her cut so much. It's really remarkable because her touch is so soothing. I've never had any hairstylist touch me like that and it was so relaxing. I feel a little bit more confident now after watching this video and kind of having a framework in my mind of what to expect. I've had my haircut 1 million times before but I feel so much more aware now. Anyways, thank you so much.

Oh my gosh, where can I find a hairdresser who understands long hair like this? My hair reached my hips and was quite thick. but every time I go to get a haircut, they chop off all my length and thin out my ends into a scraggly mess and tell me it looks MUCH better like this (they never. listen to me. Nadirah said 2 inches and she really did cut only 2 inches My last haircut said ONE inch. I measured it and it was 5. 5 lost.

I recently got 5 inches of my hair cut, and it's still relatively long (it reaches just below my breasts. I had a question for you though. I've been going to the pool everyday for 2 months and it's really affecting my hair. It's starting to get curly and frizzy and not at all like it used to be. Any advice for me? Should I be shampooing it everyday? I don't wash it daily, just wet it after coming from the pool.

This is so helpful However your stylist's behavior, how shaming and disparaging she is, and she knows she is, is why I cut my own hair, even if I want a real hair cut. Braids that get thinner aren't sad. Don't say you judge people all over for sad ends. Christ. Don't shame people. There are plenty of ways to get your message across without making people feel bad about themselves.

I actually feel very blessed to have my hair. I have thick strands of hair and I have a lot of them wich equals lots of volume. My hair is straight but it has some slight natural waves to it. I love the color to pieces it's a dark red or a dark coppery brown. I also shampoo and condition my hair every Sunday and Wednesday because my hair doesn't get super greasy.

Really interesting video. I'm wondering how much a haircut like this would cost? I'm curious because I actually live in Mexico but I do travel to California at least once every six months and kind of near the L. A. area. So as a tourist I'm always on a budget. It would be great to pay a visit but I'd like to know the cost. Thanks so much

Thank you so much for posting this video I saw it a day too late. I just cut 4 inches off my hair: ( My hair looks great but this video would have really helped me keep the length. :( Nadirah is awesome. I go to LA every now and then and would definitely love for her to cut my hair I'm going to forward this video to my LA friends. Thanks again
