Here's a bunch of products that I was going to use for WTF. but I couldn't keep my hands off of them, as soon as I tested them I realized they're just not worth the spend. Jane Tatum: Tati we are almost the same person Haha. I generally love blues, greens, some lavender, and color. For years I did bronze-golden-pewter eye looks growing up. And I tend to go to those tones vs black b/c idk my hair is medium brown. And you're one of the few Youtubers I can look to for realistic eye looks b/c we have very similar eye shapes/deeper set, slightly hooded eyes. I got about a wk behind on your videos and I've been going through a phase of wearing grey, black, and silver. w/out knowing you were. Lol. I just got some black running shoes. Like, what? I also just wanted to say I've had some really rough times w/ a chronic immune condition and your videos and you have brought me joy, and makeup has brought me distraction and happiness through some tough times the last 2-3 years. For months I wasn't even up to wearing makeup and my skin was more problemed, but makeupland was a happy and safe place. And your voice is relaxing somehow Anyway, love you Tati

I splurged on Givenchy and regret ever single product. And believe me, I tried I would say the biggest disappointment was definitely the mascara with this weird spiked ball as the applicator, literally nothing. Thought it would be perfect for the lower lash, nope Lipsticks, same. Very underwhelmed, and broke, which seems to be the consensus whenever I've splurged on REALLY expensive makeup. Maybe it's just me, seeing shape tape was a major disappointment for me, blended horribly, patched everywhere, started to think there's something wrong with me because everybody raves about it.

Yeah, the pH lipstick is wrong. You can't really measure the pH of your lip, but you can measure the saliva that is most likely on your lip, and the saliva is around 6-8 on the pH scale. Which means, if the lipstick truly did change after pH, then it would turn green. Not red. The red it turns into would be considered an EXTREME acid. Like, we are talking a pH on 0-1. If the saliva had a pH on 0-1, then it would be corroding our lips, mouth, everything it comes in contact with. Even the human stomach acid only go as low as 2-5. So yeah. It's definitely NOT pH based.

OMG TATI Making Faces is what started my love affair with doing makeup I was a makeup junkie from the age of about 3. My grandma was a very glamorous fancy lady and I adored all of her perfume bottles with bulb atomizers and the expensive creams and makeup she had on her vanity. I still remember my 5th birthday when she gave me this amazing makeup kit filled with real makeup and perfume samples, I nearly passed out with excitement I still love and cherish my book

The born this way foundation by too faced. I know, I know it's like a cult favorite but it just does NOT work for me. It'll start off really beautiful and a perfect shade and finish but then it starts to oxidize to a really odd color. It gets weirdly greasy and splotchy and weird and I always end up having a bad makeup day. I've tried many times to make it work with different primers and moisturizers but I always end up with the same result. Dissapointed

i love tati so much she had an interesting philosophy of dont spend your money if you dont have to and thats really smart, but a lot of times even though a maybeline or loreal product works just as well as an urban decay product or a two faced product ect. people are paying more for the BRAND not just the QUALITY. like i personally would prefer to get the urban decay yelllow lipstick over a babylips because i trust it more, but whatever floats your boat

Ah, I bought the tarte amazonian clay foundation thinking it would look really good on my skin, but it sucks Unless you have super oily skin, it looks cakey and dry, but the worst part is that it totally separates after like 4 hours The only good thing about that foundation is that the color matches me quite good; ( Therefore I love it when makeup gurus are honest but also a bit sceptic, because then you ain't getting fooled. -_-'

Tati: I don't know if you would be into doing this, but every time I'm in sephora I wonder is their line of products, makeup and skincare, are comparable to prestige brands sold else where in the store. Same thing for Ulta brand. Maybe you could do like a mini series on that, or just a couple of videos? Just a thought, kept up the great work ps: your eyes are poppin in this video. so pretty

I was also sucked into buying Kat von D foundation. I love her contour palette, but after trying that foundation for a week, I returned it. It sat heavy on the skin and would break down by the end of the day on my nose, chin, AND cheeks. I've never had foundation breakdown on my cheeks Definitely wasn't worth the hype. I'll keep my Estee Lauder double wear, thank you very much.

yanno, the other day I was asking some friends if they ever found themselves contemplating how sad it is they will never meet, learn from, or have their makeup done by Kevyn Aucoin. I got crickets. Kevyn inspired my love of makeup and taught me how it can transform. I just had a Tati gets me moment. XOXO, thanks for all you do.
