There is an interesting divide in women now, between those going for the runway look, and those aspiring for the hourglass. These women's jobs did not allow them to have protruding hips. But in 2021, in almost every other facet of media besides runway modeling, beautiful means having hips and a butt. I am an inverted triangle or swimmer's body type. I hold weight on top when I gain it. My shoulders are the widest part of my body. And I hate that I don't have hips or a butt. It's painful irony that these women were discriminated against for their curves when I've always despised not having them. It's that grass is always greener thing. Your social circle influences your self perception greatly. Other modeling venues will support curvy women and healthy weights. To those that have more curves, find a gig where your body type is celebrated!

God. When I hear their stories, and I look around me and see all these fat, ugly men, whose bellies enter the room before they do, and old, scarecrow women-old, dried up women, making judgements about these young, beautiful women and their bodies, it makes me sick. We should line up all these old, dried up, fat sick -controllers of the modeling industry- and yell obscenities at them and throw rotten tomatoes at their smelly, old bodies. NEVER, EVER let another person put you down just because they don-t think you meet some kind of modeling ideal they have in their heads!

And btw, all these people throwing shade on Vogue - as valid as it maybe - it's y'all fueling what they do with your fatphobia. Where are those people now, who counter body positivity with -But fat is unhealthy-? This is what your thinking creates, because it's always 5 more pounds, never thin enough.

Sometimes I wonder if all the designers want teenager sized models because they are super bad at making runway clothes that fits curvatures. Or super bad at making different size of clothes. With thin models, all they need is to make a standard flat clothes, put onto models and use pins for the rest of the job.

Honestly, I don't really get what the problem is. A slim figure simply looks best, so obviously it's expected of models to stay slim. They can always quit when they don't have the discipline any more. Real supermodels like Olga Sherer or Anna Selezneva always stayed in top shape in their modeling career.

Why VS models don't EVER say anything real and what's wrong in the industry! I wonder why they always present themselves as if it's innocent, beautiful, amazing job meanwhile behind the curtains there is happening, torture' towards them. Plus VOGUE making this interview is very much hypocratic!

My issue with the fashion industry is the consumer is by far MUCH larger then the models. I personally want to see clothing on all sizes to determine what trends/clothing I should buy. I-m not interested in seeing clothing on just super tall super petite models.

I really feel bad for these girls, they shouldn't be judged like that or ashamed, I mean they are so pretty and look like really nice people but the industry damaged them and those insecurities are now something they'll carry with them for the rest of their lives.

All girls who were naturally tall and skinny who could never put on weight and were born to be models those that complained because they struggled have now ruined it, now anyone can be a model regardless of size, looks, deformities etc

The way Myla just started breaking down, goodness, it breaks my heart because that shame others inflicted on you never does truly go away, all we can do is try our best and better our habits.
