What is malt, and why does it make milk, bread and beer taste so good? Andy: I know you called them Whoppers but in the UK we call them Maltesers and these have been a favourite chocolate of mine since a kid. There is nothing better than getting a cold one out of the fridge, sucking or biting the chocolate off then letting the malt ball inside melt on your tongue in a sticky, tasty mess.
Somehow never connected the name to them being made of Malted Milk until today. Weird. 48 years and never made that connection.

Similar to how too high a temperature can break the amylase enzyme, Siamese cats carry a mutation in their TYR gene that codes for a protein integral to melanin synthesis, this mutation lowers the temperature tolerance of the resulting protein such that any area of the body above a certain threshold is too warm for the protein to exist in a functional state. That is why the Ears, tails, nose, and paws of Siamese cats have the dark pigmentation while the torso and head don't; those areas of the body are simply too warm for the mutated protein to function. The Siamese patterning is literally a heat map

I started using malt when making bread or even pizza dough a while ago. For Pizza, It creates a very different kind of crust that I grew to be really fond of. In bread, it speeds up the rising process and creates aspeciffic aroma and color in the bread, that I really missed out on since the bakery I loved from my childhood closed down.

Adam did you know that in Spanish, milkshakes are called malteadas, it is derived from the word malt, which is malta in Spanish. I wast told that they re called that way because they used milk with malt in it as the main ingredient. Nowadays they re still called malteadas but now they re made with regular milk, instead.

Adam I doubt you ll see this but I really would like you to make a video on plastics and particularly microplastics
They re in the air water and food and I think people would benefit from a video like your other ones about dangers in our food and how to avoid them (ex. Arsenic in rice)

We call it Horlicks in Bangladesh and Indian Sub continent too.
If you ask for malted milk you will confuse a whole bunch of people down there!
Whoppers are called Maltesers in UK made by Mars and it's an all year available sweet not just seasonal.

Peatlands store more carbon than any other eco system including all forests on this planet combined. Probably a good idea not to use peat anymore.
Edit: Looked up the number. 550 billion tons of carbon to be exact. Equal to 1, 5 trillion tons of CO2

Adam, please make a video on enameled cast iron. I work for Le Creuset, and I still don't really understand the process of enameling cast iron. I know that it heats evenly and radiates heat very efficiently, but I still don't know how they make it.

When I looked at his shirt, it made me curious what state gets the most lightning, and apparently its Texas from a 2020 study with 16, 032, 609 lightning strikes from in cloud and to ground. Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Florida were #2-5.

Whoppers are like disappointing Malteasers. Just sugary and not malty enough. I still like them but couldn't love them the way I loved chocolate malt balls growing up. Had to resolve to homemade malt balls for the malty tasty goodness.
