I'm so glad you made this video! I made the cornbread last night and it was sooo good! its great that you include the substitutions in the recipe, made it a lot easier to make when you don't live in the US. one problem I ran into was what kind of corn meal/corn flower/ polenta to buy. so I bought the one that looked most like what you used in the video and it worked fine.

No offense, but I am a Southern Tennessee girl. We do not make cornbread in the South in this manner. Also. we never sweeten our cornbread. My grandmother would have laughed about sweetening the cornbread. BTW. my grandmother made the best cornbread in the South. The only thing you did correct about cooking Southern cornbread was using an iron skillet.

You're not making true southern cornbread if you're gonna change the recipe. What I hate about these wannabes is they always say im gonna show you how to make this soul food dish, then they change the recipe and call it traditional it; s not soul food if you change the recipe. If you don't like the food don't cook it or eat it

Thank you Hilah! I live in the Yuca area of Mexico and I learned that over here the Mayans don't really like milk so finding buttermilk is a needle in a haystack. But they do love their yogurt. Got an entire isle of yogurt. So I was able to make this delicious cornbread.
You're a lifesaver!

I forgot the yogurt, so I did the Milk+white vinegar trick. I really wanna try the yogurt next time.
This recipe came together so easily for me( after your biscuit demo.

I am sure that the dog is more cleaner than you are and. I know of babies ( human) that get bathed in the Kitchen sink and they sometimes piss and shit in there too. its called cleaning and disanfecting lol ever heard of it?

I made this cornbread tonight, and while I liked it, my wife did not. She is very picky about her cornbread. She likes it quite a bit sweeter. Would it be okay to up the molasses a little bit?

I'm sorry I can't get over the dog on the counter, in the kitchen, where you cook. and then you informed us that the dog peed [iminent=yMPbucgUWfOB] I don't want any of that cornbread.

I just realized I forgot to say thanks for this one. This recipe kicks ass, especially with chili! Making some more today at friends place to go with the chili he's making. So thanks Hilah!
