Vanilla Custard Cream Donuts Recipe ( Doughnut Recipe ) Learn how to make donuts that are melt in your mouth and filled with a luscious custard cream! Homemade Custard Donuts Recipe ( In the video you see me using 2 eggs because I doubled the recipe ): 280 gr of All Purpose Flour ( 2 cups + 3 tbsp flour) 40 gr Sugar ( 3 tbsp) 1/2 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Nutmeg 1 egg 120 gr Whole Milk ( 1/2 cup ) 40 gr melted Butter ( 1/3 stick ) 7 gr Dry Yeast ( 1 packet ) If you're making this dough by hand, because it's quite sticky here's the right tecnique for kneading this dough by hand: NOTE: I used a 7 1/2 cm ( 3 inch ) cookie cutter and fried 34 donuts at a time. If you choose to make larger donuts use a bigger pan OR fry only 2 donuts at a time. Vanilla Custard: 660 gr Whole Milk ( 2 2/3 cup ) 3 WHISKED medium Eggs ( I like using whole eggs. The egg yolks add richness, while the egg whites add a beautiful glossy shine to your custard ) Whisk the eggs well before adding them to the milk mixture. 180 gr Sugar ( 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp ) 5 tbsp Cornstarch 2 tsp Vanilla Extract Pinch of Salt

Ok so I tried this, and it was a huge hit: ) if you also try this it pays to roll out your dough on the thicker side, I had a few doughnuts that cooked as disks as opposed to spheres. I would also use 150g of sugar for the custard as opposed to 180g, because it was a bit too sweet. Still I will most definitely be trying other recipes from Emma: )

Loved watching the video of making delicious doughnuts. Pls guide if I don-t have nutmeg, can I replace anything with it? Or just not using it will effect the taste of the doughnut. ? Will appreciate your quick reply. As I-m going to try it in few hours. -

Honey, i really like ur Recipes. but why do u use Vanille Extract and not Vanilla Sticks? -Extract can be synthetic. Vanilla Sticks are natural. And cheaper than the Extract. -In Germany its not common, to use Extract at Home.

Gosh! I feel like licking my screen. I have everything but the nutmeg (we are stranded at home cause of the virus-so no going out to the supermarket for nutmegs, our village store is limited) Maybe I'll give this a try.

I'm actually making these right now. My custard was premade this morning so it is nice and cold in the fridge. Does the dough still need to sit for 2 hrs? My tummy is growling- I live in a hot country

OMG. I made these and my kids went nuts for them. They say it is the best thing I ever made. I put custard in mine and strawberry in theirs. What else can I do with the custard? I have a lot left.
