Its not Indian without turmeric. That is an American dish with Indian tadka. A fusion at best. Not an Indian yellow dal.
Someone, below said moong dal is not the basic yellow dal, its the toor daal. That's true. But moong cooks faster. So if you r in a hurry, you could substitute moong to make the yellow dal.

If you are going to say 'How to', there really should be complete instructions. This is more like 'tips on cooking'.
All that said, I liked the video, it was well done, and I did learn a thing or two. I just felt cheated when I didn't learn how to make Naan.

Moong daal as we call it is not the regular yellow daal actually it is the toor or as we call it more commonly arhar daal.
