Learn how to make an Almond Biscotti Joe Vivilacqua: Love your repartee along with your recipes. I'm a 75 yr old Grandfather and I just made 2 batches with my16 year old granddaughter. I used whatever nuts I had stored in the freezer. On one I use toasted Pine nuts and pistachios and the other one with whole almonds and blanched almond slivers. They both came out great. My g'daughter and I appreciate your limited use of amazing in your descriptions. However we listened closely to your recipe instructions and counted 13 times the use of go ahead ands for as you like to say, no apparent reason. Am I the only follower who's pointed that out to you? I'd like to hear from others.

Since no one knows who I really am, I can confess here. I've got a parrot who comes over to me in the evenings for some raw unsalted pistachios or cashews. They're expensive. So when he leaves pieces behind, I gather them, keep a cup for them in the kitchen, and add them to my biscotti. I wouldn't ever do that if they were meant for other people, out of respect, but I don't mind doing it when it's just for me. She wasn't exactly refined, she wasn't exactly unrefined: she was the sort of woman who keeps a parrot. Mark Twain.

There is something wrong with this recipe. I did exactly what he did. Even used a freaking wooden spoon, baked at the same temp for the time specified, used all fresh ingredients. But. When I went to cut the loaf using a good serrated knife, it all crumbled to 1 inch bites, roughly. I waited exactly the amount of time specified before cutting too. Ruined my day. What went wrong foodwishes?

Hey Chef John, is there any way to convert this to a chocolate biscotti recipe? Every chocolate biscotti recipe I have tried turned out more like a densely compacted hard brownie, instead of having the same crisp bite all the way through like these did. I will 100%make these again but I am a chocoholic at my core and really need a good chocolate biscotti recipe

Say automoile in a funny Italian accent. The au in that is the o in biscotti. Basically exactly half way between the two pronunciations you gave. Also like the o in off if you speak with a standard British accent. But you can say it any way you want. After all, you are the North Atlantic Treaty Organization of your small Italian cookie pronunciation.

That's it The Game of Thrones mystery is solved. The Night King just wants the guys at the crossway inn to make them Biscotti and a hot drink. Why didn't anyone think of this before? It's totally logicl: Those guys are living in total winter for like forever and never got a hot cup of coffee or tea and some cookies. Duh

Hi Chef John Your biscotti is lovely I baked it yesterday and my family loved it. just a question though, how long is the storage for this? I'm planning to bake a big batch of it so we always have a biscotti ready for our coffee every morning. :) thank you very much.

I just made these yesterday with pistachios and cranberries. I used only 3/4 cup of sugar and a full teaspoon of vanilla extract in place of the almond extract. Drizzled white chocolate on top. So easy and tasty, with the classic biscotti crunch. Thanks Chef John

I'm so excited to try this Chef John I used to make this for the winter season, but it always split so poorly when I cut it. Now I know what I was doing wrong. I'll try this one and the somewhat traditional cranberry-pistachio mix too. :D You're the best
