I can just imagine somebody out there proposing with a Christmas cracker but when they pull on it the ring goes flying and it turns into this whole fiasco trying to find it

Hang on. is no one questioning how Yo says she pulls crackers? Don't you hold the pinched bit of cardboard (between the main body of the cracker and the end bit) from the outside rather than the snap paper from the inside of the end? Or have I been doing it wrong for 25 years?

You should have usesd a cake center as a plug ihstead of wrestling with the acetate. Next time save three cake centers instead of the two you used for the end of your beautiful cake.
