Calling all falafel-lovers: this burger was meant for you. It has everything you love about a burger combined with the unique flavor profile of falafel think chickpeas, garlic, curry powder, and cumin. This easy recipe will convince you that vegetarian burgers can have just as much flavor as if not more than a regular burger. Falafel Burger From Nicole Iizuka, POPSUGAR Food 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 green onions, chopped cup mushrooms, chopped 1 15 ounce can garbanzo beans, undrained 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped 1 tablespoon curry powder teaspoon cumin cup breadcrumbs this says 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, but video graphic says 3/4 cup 2 egg whites 4 hamburger buns Hummus Lettuce Tomato Pickles Avocado Heat one tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add green onions and mushrooms and fry until tender, stirring frequently, about 3 minutes. In a food processor, combine garbanzo beans (including the liquid) and garlic, and blend until smooth. Transfer mixture to a bowl and add mushrooms and onions. Mix in cilantro, parsley, curry powder, and cumin. Add in breadcrumbs and egg whites and mix until blended. Form into 4 patties. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the remaining tablespoon of oil and place the patties into the hot skillet, frying for 5 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Serve on toasted buns with hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and sliced avocado. Serves 4 Cook time: 25 minutes

So I just wanted to give some feedback, and an idea for another use for this recipe. I ended up using the felafel recipe mentioned here but had to use a lot more breadcrumbs. And even then, I had to use plastic wrap to form the burgers. Then, with the extra felafel mixture, I made a kind of Mediterranean-inspired deep-dish pizza. I made a crust out of the felafel (again, lining the baking dish with breadcrumbs firstto avoid sticking) and baked it until it firmed up some (about 20 minutes at 350F/180) Then I alternated layers of a sauted onions and peppers, sliced and quartered tomatoes, fresh basil, feta cheese crumbles, and a homemade white sauce (basically creme fraiche / sour cream infused with chopped garlic, lemon juice, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper) 15 minutes at 400F/200 later, and it was amazing
