If you pay more than 15 for a Pizza, you're being ripped off. If you pay more than 20 for a pizza, you're being robbed. One of my dough recipes (80/20 of Bread and AP Flour) can make four pizzas and one 5lb bag of Bread Flour is enough for Two dough, so with ONE 5lb bag of Bread Flour (2. 50) and ONE 1lb bag of AP Flour (1. 00, I can make EIGHT Pizzas. Sure the 4 oz jar of yeast is like 3 (I actually found a place that sells 2 lb bags for 7, but that's enough to make 8 dough (as I use 14 grams of yeast.
The rest of the cost would be in the toppings and sauce, but the INGREDIENTS to bake EIGHT PIZZAS will be cheaper than the cost of BUY ONE at any of those places.

Pity you went with one of the BA people. I think Frank Pinello wouldn't been a far better, more knowledge guide compared to the one you went with. Lombardis got dinged by the expert for the cheese coverage yet he was silent on the same coverage on the Rubirosa pie. The BA guy then praised the Rubirosa sauce for using all the ingredients he said shouldn't be in a good sauce. Was he shilling? There also seemed to be some confusion - Sorted seemed to be looking for the best pizza in NYC (also the video title) while the BA guide was whinging about NY Style pizza.

So here's the problem. When you are judging three foods that are the same type, you need to keep everything as similar as possible. The first 2 pizzas were fairly similar with the sauce being different, but then you get to the third pizza and add an entirely different ingredient, you can't judge it with the other 2 because you suddenly made it into a whole different thing.

The first time I visited New York City we walked into the first/random pizza place we saw because it was night time we had just gotten in and were hungry. It ended up being Scarr's and let me assure you. It's the best.

Americans sound so weird when I hear them next to us. I don't notice it when I watch Americans on their own but I hear the accent so much more when they're talking to an English person.

Scarr's is solid. Not a vodka sauce guy, but that looked tasty. Lombardi's is a bit of a tourist trap, though that pie still looked good too.

James: Jamie's famous for concentrating more on novelty than taste
Also James: This place is the first pizza place in America
