The metal tray thing could be useful, because I have a habit of forgetting to get some meat out of the freezer in enough time to defrost, and I don't really like defrosting in the microwave. The pizza oven thing could be great but would mean you can only cook one pizza at a time, and if you have friends round you don't necessarily want to have to be keeping an eye on how ever many pizzas you're cooking, you just want to be able to chill. That's my view anyway.

Cooking a fridge cold steak is fine. I cook steaks from frozen and I live in the heart of beef country (Alberta Canada) The whole make sure your steak is room temp before you cook it is a silly myth. Just make sure its dry and you'll be fine. Cooking a 4 degree steak and cooking a 20 degree steak in a 300 degree oven is virtually the exact same thing from the perspective of thermodynamics.

I have been using that pizza oven for years. It is the only way I know to make a real Italian pizza without an actual big stone oven. It's used a lot in Italian homes. If you make a proper fresh pizza, a pizza is baked in only 5 minutes and comes out better than many pizza restaurants.

Ahhh the defroster tray! When I was 20ish, I was with my boyfriend who was housesitting a relative's (very nice) house. I was making dinner and grabbed one of these, thinking it was a cutting board and scratched it ALL tf up. I panicked and put it back without saying anything.

I have the simple version (not as many attachments) of the green mandolin thing. It works great, and I love the hand guard. But you do have to have moderately-sized vegetables. You'll have to cut up pieces to work if they are a little wonky or bigger than usual.

So the big metal thing. It works as heat sink. It doesn't need any power as the whole thing would only cool down a few degrees. It actually became stylish in the late 50's or 60's to have a large block built in to your counter top in some countries

9: 18 - YESS! FOUND IT! Why don't you cook a steak from fridge cold? As for the defroster tray, mind I'm not a science person, but if I'm right, it's a form of a heat sink, it pulls cold from something. How? I have no idea.

5: 20 Whoever did the subtitles got it wrong - it's not adults, and LAPs Barry actually said adults and OAPs.
An acronym for 'Old Age Pensioners '.
