Can This American Follow A Recipe In Japanese? Theresa: I took a year of Japanese in college like 3 years ago and I'm at a really awkward state where I can read katakana and hiragana, but I have no idea what it's actually saying most of the time. If someone was trying to talk to me in Japanese, oof, FOGETTA BOUT IT

This gives me flashbacks to when I was little and working towards my black belt in karate. The sensei would wack us with a bamboo rod if we messed up on our Japanese pronunciation. I often wonder how he is today since he was older. He was really kind to us students and wouldnt stop until we fully understood.

That I can understand all of Rie's instructions without the subtitles makes me so so happy and proud of my studying. Listening to japanese cooking videos and cooking along is actually a very nice way of learning the specific cooking vocabulary. I can only recommend it to anyone who learns Japanese.

There are 4 types: 1. Cute Mama - Rie, because she is so freakin adorable2. Funny Mama - Alix, because she always has a good pun3. Brave Mama - Alexis, because she's always up for a challenge4. Crazy Dada - Alvin, cause he's making it big

Since Rie has got the name; This Chef they couldn't call Alix the same, so as creative as we all know them to be, they gave her the name; This American I am as always mesmerised by the unique names they pick

I love rie and alix doing things together they are super opposite although both super fun but in very different ways. They make the perfect friendship

Man, I miss this two cooking together. Good thing that even though Alix doesnt work as a full time in Tasty still manages to do some guesting.
