Hi there! Today I wanted to create a video that really dove into my process of designing a space. I share a lot of room makeovers here on the channel and have touched on my design process a few times however i felt this video would really help anybody wanting to take on a small or large design project. + Check out Alexandra Gaters Video

Hi Drew. New subbie here and Im loving your content and most importantly, the way you explain how to do this! -
My house was remodeled about 2 years ago and Ive yet to hang a single picture frame, let alone purchase curtains, furniture, etc.
Im sooooo stumped because A) Im starting from scratch and B) I now have an open floor plan.
(My family room goes into my Kitchen which goes into my Dining room.
So Im definitely going to start with my mood board.
But my two biggest problems are
1. I have no idea what the rule of thumb is with regards to window treatments. As I now have 4 windows and one sliding glass door that I need to cover, which are now basically all in one big room.
2. I have a beautiful French provincial dining set that my Mother gave me. But its not my style wood. So Ill be up cycling it. (Which I am familiar with doing.
The only prob is, I have no idea where to start/the look Im going for.
I love a chic/elegant farmhouse look. So idk if I should do a distressed white, a solid dark color, white on the bottom & faux wood on top and if I do choose that last look, should I get it as close to the floor color as possible? I know Im over thinking this. But its these little details that have me sooo stumped.
Any recommendations or links to other videos you might have on this would be appreciated more than you know.

What I like more than peel and stick paper is starched fabric. It is reusable, and has zero wall damage. I just took my navy blue off a pale blue wall in order to paint, and the only color transfer was to the starch that stayed on the wall. that I rinsed off with plain water and a towel. When I was looking into it, it was cheaper than other options. It looks luxurious too, being fabric. If you do a pattern you have to pay close attention to how wide the widest pattern repeat on the bolt is, because you may need more fabric than you thought if you have to overlap several inches in order to pattern match.

Thanks for tips and ideas! My husband and I are getting our first apartment flat and will be doing lots of shopping for furniture soon. I'm in India so the common theme in most homes is very dark painted walls in every room. I prefer lighter shades of color since they make the space feel more open and bright but not too white and sterile. I've helped paint apartments with my dad and he taught me a lot about choosing the right color and always paint the ceiling white.

Hi Lone Fox! I know this is an older video however I just came across this and I am hoping you or someone who knows could help me out with a question. How do you know which wall to use for your accent wall? Or does it really matter? I apologize in advance if this is a easy question for some. I have honestly been stuck on this for a while. Thank you!

THANK YOU! this is EXACTLY what i was looking for! i'm moving into a new apartment which has much more space. and while i do love design and can tell when something looks good or bad, i don't always know what it is that causes those perceptions. these tips are going to make everything so much easier

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas, I really liked and appreciate them! This is exactly what I was looking for to have some ideas about decorating not to drown into my own too many plans lol.

It has your close captioning on Japanese how do I change that to English?
You talk so fast I cant keep up and am hearing impaired and close captioning helps me understand what you are saying.

I have to have blackout curtains even though I love the look of gauzy ones. I can't sleep unless everything is dark and quiet, so blackout curtains are just good for my needs
