Drawing can seem intimidating and complicated at first, but once you develop an understanding of the basics, you can begin drawing. I'll be honest, drawing is tough and can take many years to master or even get good at. This shouldn't stop you from starting to draw or sketch though. It's never too late to start creating art and have fun with what you do. Nancy: Brandon, I think whoever is asking these questions, I would definitely refer them to your How to Draw series done a while back. these tutorials are incredibly helpful, especially to those like me who have never been able to draw any 3D object. I'm learning a ton Brandon all thanks to you and these tutorials. Next is Video #4 and then a week's worth of practicing. Very interesting video Brandon and I loved the Q&A

Hey there, Brandon!
Question for ya:
If I am going to end up focusing on cartooning, where do you think my best starting point is?
I sat down for most of today just trying to draw characters I find interesting; however, I feel like that is a really bad way to learn, as I can draw them well from reference, but I can only draw them accurately to what the reference is.
It takes me far too long to do, and I can't draw them in any imagined form that I might think of.
I'm going to watch your tutorials regardless, as it can't hurt of course, but I was just wondering if you had any personal advise to what I'm trying to do.
Thanks!

I watched all 13 videos in Learn to draw. I have been drawing for 2 years now, been accepted in Faculty of design in Slovenia. I have improved my drawing a lot, but the proportions have given me a hard time lately. Could use some advice on proportions.

I started learning a month ago at the age of 43. it's never too late to learn anything.
I have a sketchbook and a set of pencils. I draw every day from videos (just copying. in a month I did improve a lot.
