Great topic! Whenever someone says something like that to me and follows it with -I could never do anything like that-, I always reply the same way. -That-s not true. Anyone can learn to paint/draw. It-s a skill like anything else, not a gift. You just need to change how you SEE the world and practice. Anyone can learn. - They always look at me like I-m crazy. But I believe it.

When I was in high school I had an art class. It didn-t go very well. I got low marks and was told by the teacher that I had no -talent-! That was it fo me. I didn-t attempt to draw for the rest of my life! I-m 70 now and have been drawing since last Summer. I get discouraged a lot. It-s just for fun. You-re one of the youtubers that keeps me going. Thanks. ;-)

You are spot on imo. I had a friend who was a good musician and he got the poops with people who said you-re lucky to be so talented. It was 8 to 10 hours practice a day nearly every day for years. Practice practice practice and have fun with it. who gives a crap if you-re not -good- at something, at least you-re doing it!

Drawing is pure talent, anyone can -draw- to an extent, but drawing to an impressive extent is pure natural talent. I'm sick to bloody death of people on here saying it can be learnt, show you, make it look simple etc, you try and it looks awful, it drives me mad. It is talent not skill, for crying out loud just admit it
