Cool vid, but I enjoy the scripted gags. The humor in your teachings vids is one of the things that hooked me; not to mention your superb teaching abilities. Few people realize how difficult it is to teach well. You're very good at explaining things in such a way that you simplify them conceptually so that viewers really understand the subject. I rank your teaching skills up there with your drawing skills. I'm a professional illustrator and I have no idea how to teach others to do what I do. Still, I enjoy your vids because I'm always looking for ways to improve. I never want to stop learning and growing. Nothing is as sad to me as to see a great artist become a caricature of himself and stop developing. I'm 52 and I still approach art as journey and not as an end in itself.

Don't you think the right hand is a little bit off? There's a weird wrist curvature. I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed by this performance, in regard of the TONS of awesome anatomy tutorials you provided over the years. I don't know if the problem is the inking or a certain pressure due to the fact that it YOUR art and not a tutorial, but I imagined a way more breathtaking artwork. It's a nice piece (I'm not saying that it is totally crap) but I expected an AWESOME artwork of you.

I really like the patterns of light and dark throughout the figure. To sell that punch you need more rotation on the fore-arm, to where you begin to see the elbow and the brachioradialis/extensor muscles start to overlap the bicep's insertion--look at Joe Kubert-- and streamline the exterior line--the ulnar side--of the arm to emphasize the force and direction of the gesture. A contour reflecting accurate anatomy checks the force of the blow. Look at Bruce Timm 's approach.

I think it is very interesting to see someone draw a superhero or comic characters in gerenal, who has a vast knowledge of realistic anatomy. Because when I look at most comic book art, I'm cringing a bit because of how bad the anatomy is sometimes. I'd love to see more of those videos. Plus the most important thing: You should do what you like the most and if you feel like doing some a bit more loose comic book style tutorials, then go for it! I'd watch all of them: )

Thanks +Proko, its nice to see the anatomy and construction knowledge being applied in a different capacity, it proves the applicability of your lessons to comics. Personally I like to see you (and others) do stuff that you enjoy doing, and more informal videos of you doing different stuff is great.

I would love to see more videos like this. Actually, a tutorial on shadow mapping would be amazing. What kind of scanner and tablet do you use? What are your brush settings?
