Didn't watch the full video yet, but in order to open PNGs with transparent backgrounds in Photoshop properly, you have to either save them to a folder in your PC or open them using their internet address (copy image address, then in PS: open, paste address, ok.

pro tip on pngs: I know it's a pain in the ass when copy and paste is much quicker, but saving and then opening avoids getting the black background. :D
