Steve Huston shows us how he draws dynamic and expressive hands. You can also check out my interview with him here: After my interview with Steve Huston (which I recommend you watch) he was kind enough to draw some hands for us. He shows how to break up the hands into basic interlocking forms and how to use cross hatching to get a 3D effect. Steve also recently published an instructional book on figure drawing. I think it-s a must have for every artist learning how to draw: Other Lessons on How to Draw Hands How to Draw Hand Bones: Part 1 - Muscle Anatomy of the Hand Part 2 - Details for Realistic Hands! Part 3 - Drawing Hands from Imagination Demos - Tips on Shading and Drawing Hands Demos - How to Draw a Fist Demos - How to Draw Cartoon Hands Full Access to Premium Videos - Don't miss new tutorials - Course Package Deals - Pose photo sets

this guy sucks. too wordy. Just draw the frigging forms which are seen from the reference. An anatomy study is what 's needed if you try this without a reference photo, or model. Evolution, humanity, life's demands, philosophy, bias, BS, .BS and more BS. Proko is best.

I-m putting together a bunch of demos for drawing the hands. I want to know what poses and variations you want to see. Reply to this comment to vote for one of these or suggest another: Holding Objects, Fists, Foreshortened Hands, Female Hands, Cartoon Hands.

After listening to Mr. Houston-s interview I was curious what kind of teacher he would be. And after watching this lesson I was not let down, he is amazing. I can see why you have such a high opinion of him, I only wish that more taught with his style.

I have such an issue with hands. steve needs to write a book. art book. I'll have to also need to study your anatomy of hands. I am in the process of buying figure drawing author is hampton. something like that name.

I could watching him doing this all day! What he's saying is quite deep, and interesting. Like there's meaning to every stroke, not just to make it pretty. Maybe it's because I'm such a beginner here.

Steve Huston thanks to a very nice expression. And Proko, thank you. You've created such an opportunity for us. I need a camera and a tripod. Can you tell me your brand and models?

Very illuminating. I really like how he talks about designing the drawing - this is informed by his anatomical knowledge - its what frees him from merely drawing what he sees.

So you're telling me don't use white out pen for highlights, use white pencil or the same as Sir Huston is? I need to learn to properly learn highlights.
