Why are you touching his sketchbook?
If you have a question, you would indicate by holding your hand upside down and gesture with the fingernail of your hand at some distance to insure that the oils from your skin are not transferred to his masterpiece pages.
That is protocol for Artwork of all types.
I have noticed as soon as I open a sketchbook or loose art to show, people immediately want to touch it as if they are going to siphon some of the Artists energy from the page. I normally do not leave comments of this type, so I hope you will see this as constructive criticism.

Cesar, I have a question. I have been watching a lot conservation videos, (I may become one) when painting from the masters, do you think about, the original intent, that is under the years of varnish, soot and pollution. A lot of modern masters talk about -brown- painting referring to those hanging in museums without talking about this. Or do you attempt to capture the paintings as they are. Does that make sense?

This guy is WAAAAY beyond our understanding of the definition of -gifted & Talented-. Stan doesn't get him, it's not technique based on the Loomis method or how to sharpen a pencil, Cesar is classically trained. A master of his chosen mediums because he learned the fundamentals, completely and with confidence.

Don't think
I wanna be him.
You have to think.
Bro, i'm gonna beat him.
Not because you're narcissistic, but because it gives hope, and i know that everyone needs a little bit of hope to get succes. Because what is succes when hope ain't left.

These sketchbooks should be titled -In Search of the Maudlin-. Art that gains instant approval from the masses falls apart when viewed by a much more trained eye. Great artists' works are much more direct, and not so superficially -pleasant-.

Cesar! The tour was AMAZING! I appreciate Bouguereau just as much as you and get so excited when I see his skin work reproduced. You work so hard to do well and yes I consider you a living master. God bless us all.

The most interesting thing about this to me is the style as it-s very realistic but is stylized almost like renaissance and I thought people didn-t draw like this today but apparently they do

Hey Proko. This was a beautiful video. Thank you so much for sharing. Do you know what kind of sketchbook does he use? I have never seen a sketchbook here in Canada that can withstand oil paint?
