Biggest drawing mistake ive made was skipping over basics. I picked up drawing pretty early in life and came to be what people called -talented. - Well this got into my head and i thought i could just ride off of talent and didnt need to actually understand all these principles. Needless to say i grew older and saw other artist soar past my level of skill and eventually had to drop the ego and learn the basics to level up. If your a young dude/girl with some talent always remember that skill and hard work will always triumph and there's no shortcuts for improvement. Ps. Shameless plug - check my new art insta out - digitasoul93.

The problem that I face is that I can't decide how realistic I should draw. Like if I'm studying faces or anatomy I dont want to draw them in a realistic way. And I also don't know how to draw in a stylized way. I'm struggling with that. Also another thing that nobody mentions is really bad focus, memory, imagination and creativity. Nobody tells how to improve on that. I'm a quite retarded and just can't keep anything in memory for long even when I'm looking at references let alone imagining sth. And creativity is zero. I get so so depressed cuz of that knowing I won't be able to ever get better

The -not drawing- comment got me! I stopped my hobbies during high school because lack of support though I-ve still been studying and thinking about art and how to compose things. The physical practice is what makes the work and will make it easier to whip up projects faster the more time is put in. I shouldn-t have listened to negative feedback and kept at the things that came easier to me rather than living for someone else-s version of what I should be doing with my life. A lifetime is a long time to waste by not doing things that make you happy.

I don't really know what my mistakes are. But I would probably echo what has been said. I haven't done enough with foundation work. I never saw the importance of drawing a square a circle a cube etc. Though I know how it helps now I still feel like I don't want to draw those things. Also rushing which I think goes hand in hand with the foundation. At the moment I am just getting back and I want to try and do a sketch a day for 2021. And see where I get. I never know what to sketch so maybe I'll try observations as well as my other doodles.

Well, it's kind of hard when you're working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, with no art center for live figure drawing available for miles. I don't really have the resources and/or time to draw from life. I live in a crappy part of town, where the nearly college didn't have live figure drawing, but instead made up look at photos on a TV screen. That's city budget for ya. In other words, it ain't that easy to find the best resources.

7: 25 Be more receptive to learning everything and try not to think that those tools that you've already done are the tools that you're always gonna be using. Those are the tools that got you started now learn the rest of the tools because those were beginner tools and now you gotta level up to advanced tools. And that will get you anywhere you wanna go

I know these are ongoing processes but anatomy and perspective are the two structural things I need to work on and also value verity and not rushing my work. I guess it all comes down to gaining more confidence in my work. I-ve definitely progressed but I still have a long way to go and I can-t wait-

My problem is wanting to learn Everything all at once that the information that I take in doesn-t stay in my head most of the time and that I rush the process too when I draw but I-m learning to take things slow and that I need to enjoy the drawings more than seeing the end processes

I need to start drawing. That-s my biggest thing. I started out on photoshop but never really learned how to hand draw. I-d love to be able to do basic art work with a pencil and also think of something and draw it. But I know that will take a lot of practice.
