Maybe that's where I keep messing up. I'm a Virgo and very 'orderly' like I feel like I should get it 'right' on the first sketch and I feel like I have to do it in A. B. C order when maybe I should approach it. I haven't been able to do a 'full' piece lately just sketching and I'm getting frustrated. I was a WoW fanartist and now trying to draw FFXIV and it's vibe is COMPLETELY different. Thanks for sharing!

Me, two weeks into the latest serious attempt at drawing: -My sketch lines are too messy. I will spend a few days on just trying to get clean sketch lines-
Pro artist: -You really just want to dive in, get this messy thing on the canvas and see where it goes from there. Maybe this is a shoulder? Maybe a bit of body? Just get it on canvas quickly. -
Me: -Oh. -

So interesting to see someone so renown being so honest about having -mistakes keeping us company throughout the process-. I personally get so lost sometimes into correcting those mistakes and I eventually get stuck with a over-synthetic feeling to the painting. Very interesting breakdown of the process, the comments are really encouraging!

Damn, I love watching your process! I am the kind of guy who likes to go directly at the finished product, but the piece never seems to go the way I want it to. I might try to keep it messy like this when I attempt moving to digital art! Thank you for going through your process for us!

Love your work
I stopped drawing 3 years ago and now I wanna start so I can advance into animation especially bringing marvel and DC animation into life from comics.
But I gotta start doing anatomy and all again but thanks to your stuff, it's a boost

This is great, I completely get the whole messy start up and finding interesting shapes in the looseness of the initial sketch, that process for me is one of the most exciting parts of drawing a piece of artwork.

As a bw style lover, i thank you so much for this tutorial. I never got so comfortable with colours as with grey values, so seeing this process and the result it can get really inspired me to just trust myself a bit more.

I can say this feels like the most art class session I've been in for a years. Right when when I think of a question in my head. theres an approach or answer. I love this style.

The character reminds me of something I would see in one of my DnD campaigns, super sick! totally basing an npc on the vibe and attitude I got from this piece, Amazing

Not gonna lie Mister Greco does simplify a lot with his explanation & process. he makes it seem like its attainable for other ''less talented artist like me''
