You-re Using Reference Wrong (Here-s How to Fix It) - Proko lisa: Thank you proko. Christian was hysterical. Now I know a way I can sculpt without going to a ceramic studio. Would be nice if Christian or someone else showed what a beginner can do with this sort of app. Would you start with barque plates? All this making it -your own- is great if you understand anatomy well or if you have the right references but I would like to see how someone makes a barque plate -their own- at a beginner level. Much easier to paint a tree and make it -my own - but the human body is far trickier.

Excellent video and timely for me since I'm getting into carving/sculpting and finally getting a feel for it. Key word is -feel-. Having shaped surfboards a few times with mixed results, this was helpful in -making decisions-. Stick to the darn plan. but remain flexible in method.

Wait is that just editing magic or is there a way in Zbrush to have a reference 3D model that rotates just like the model you are working with?
EDIT: Good old Mike P. Seems to be 2019 feature called -split screen mode- which can be found in the transform menu.

I didn't enjoy the presentation at all. Usually I can tune out the usual cringe from Proko's fart jokes but this was also bloody pretentious. My mind was racing between ''stop saying story about everything'' to ''fix that grotesque ribcage'' and back.

I am also artist. So, I also understand that just drawing what is it in reference is not going to make you creative, first, I also use to draw according to reference, but soon realise that it is finishing my creativity.

i clicked this at random, I saw it and I thought, eh i'll give it a chance. if in the title it would have said, -learn to sculpt women's breasts- I would have clicked instantly

Great analysis Christian/ enjoyed the sculpting and narrating process. Stan thanks for this kind of content, as a 3d artist myself this is very much appreciated.
